Restaurante Sellium( Cervejaria Claustro) — Restaurant in Tomar

We've been a couple of times in the last few weeks for a glass of wine around 5/6pm. The service was great and the wine was decent and well-priced. Yesterday, just after 1pm, we were in the area collecting our daughter and son-in-law's wedding gift. We felt like a glass of wine in the middle of a hectic day, but not a lunch as we were booked for an early wedding dinner at the Lodge. The waiter asked if we were having lunch and when we said "no just a drink and possibly a snack", he said, "Sorry but we're only a restaurant. If you're not having lunch, then sorry but..." The rest of the sentence was implied. What a disgusting way to treat your customers. Especially when you only have two tables in at 13h30?! We will now never go back there. Way too many other places to choose from in the area who actually know how to provide...

One thing that I noticed while traveling through Portugal for ten days is that every town has a Museum of Beer. Another thing I noticed is that pretty much every place that I ordered a beer at only had ONE BEER! That beer is Super Bock, and although it's not really a bock and is definitely delicious if what you want is a light lager, I was really missing not only the variety of styles that I'm used to, but also missing why every town has a beer museum. We stumbled upon this place tonight. We were warmly welcomed by the owner (we think?), an older gentleman who was playing with his grandson. The menu is small but features local specialties. My dad had the Portuguese steak (steak with sliced ham and egg on top, and freshly fried potatoes). I had the house steak which came with a lovely sauce; ordered fries on the side. My son had the fried chicken wings. They were tasty and not greasy. The older gentleman offered my son the same foods to taste as his grandson was eating. He even gave my son a small treat.
