This restaurant was actually recommended by our tour guide, and upon a quick google search it was already remarkably interesting. Upon arrival, you will enter this really “sketchy” corridor that seems to go down under ground and then you’re met with a sword in the stone that you can try and pull. I thought that was pretty cute, an actual Excalibur. We even tried pulling and taking photos whilst pretending and failing to pull the sword out. So, before even entering the double doors, it was already quite fun. So, having gone through the double doors; the ambiance has already hit you. You then feel the atmosphere that is in there. The staff are dressed in “medieval” themed clothes. They were actually fully booked, however, the staff managed to seat us. Albeit it was in the corner, but it was still surprisingly good. We could feel the vibe of the room; happy, energetic, and just full of wonder; like, what are we actually going to be eating today? Moreover, the staff were delightful! They actually made so much effort to have us; 8 people; sitting at a decent table. Despite, being busy, fully booked and it seemed like they were understaffed. So, kudos! We really appreciate it! The food. OH MY GOD THE FOOD. I did not expect that when it arrived. Just a little back story; I am Filipino, my whole family is Filipino, other that one Caucasian gentleman; my sister’s boyfriend, we are all Filipino. So, we really loved the food! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Although, the food was quite simple food but the way it was presented and served to us! In addition, they encouraged us to eat with our hands! We were so happy because we felt so at home. This was an equivalent to what us Filipinos call a “Boodle-fight”, where the food is centred in front of everyone, and we eat with our hands. The only thing missing was soy sauce, vinegar, calamansi or lemon, and RICE! If those were there, it would’ve been a “Boodle-fight”. So, to all the Filipinos out there, BRING SOY SAUCE, VINEGAR, CALAMANSI OR LEMON AND RICE! Then, you would be complete! We absolutely loved it even without the rice. I mean, even the other people sat beside us were looking at how much fun we were having whilst they were eating with knives and forks. The price is fair. It is not that cheap, but its fair. For what you get; the service and the AMOUNT OF FOOD, the price is fair. I wouldn’t ask for it to be cheaper to be honest because of how fair the pricing is. Plus, all ages can enjoy this restaurant. From elders to adults and the children can enjoy this restaurant. You don’t even need to buy special foods for you children because you will all be sharing platters; which is what I recommend. In conclusion, my family and I had so much fun and absolutely loved the food. On the other hand, the food is nothing special. So, please don’t expect Michelin star. However, the ambiance along with aesthetics and the experience of it all. This restaurant is worth the visit and if you’re Filipino or south-eastern Asian, bring rice but maybe ask permission first. A head up, their menu also has a whole roast pig but requires a 48hour advance notice. Overall, we absolutely loved it and will definitely come back!

Situated within a charming medieval setting, this restaurant exudes a captivating atmosphere that transports you back in time. From the moment you enter, the attention to detail is remarkable, evoking a genuine sense of dining in the medieval age. The staff, dressed in period-appropriate attire, ensures an authentic experience, even encouraging us to wash our hands with water and lemon before partaking in the feast. Opting for the King's Platter for two, this hearty ensemble featured an array of grilled sausages, succulent chicken, and flavorful bacon, all served atop a bed of potato wedges and a salad. While the flavors were undeniably delightful, I must note that the chicken tended to be a tad dry, and the merguez sausage, while flavorful, leaned toward the salty side and was slightly overcooked. The potato wedges, though decent, could have been elevated with a touch of grilling instead of frying. Initially, the service commenced on a positive note, with attentive waitstaff. However, in the midst of our enjoyment, we sought additional sauce but found ourselves unable to locate any waiters. It was somewhat disheartening to discover them huddled in a corner with their phones in hand. Furthermore, the final bill perplexed us, as it seemed to include hidden costs that were not entirely transparent. Additionally, the suggestion of mandatory tipping, with options of 10% or 15%, left us feeling slightly uneasy and questioning the integrity of the establishment. Such experiences left us with a sense of disappointment.

Its a nice place to go for pictures and a beer, but do not waste your money on the food, there are much better and cheaper alternatives. Your typical tourist trap. The food is very bad and not worth the money. The only thing worth it was the "smoked bone" (ciolan afumat) but even that dish came together with plain tasting boiled beans. The 2 person dish came with very dried chicken, and the potatoes tasted like they were boiled yesterday. The salad tasted bland (unseasoned) and came with just two pieces of chicken rest bread. But the worst dish of all was by far the gulas in bread. The bread was so burned and hard that you could break the plate under it if you tried to cut it and drop it. Was accompanied by two spoons of "gulas" in the shallow middle. The atmosphere was ok, but a bit ruined by the English music, the place is beautifully decorated and its nice for pictures. The staff was alright, even though they did not have the soup we wanted (we replaced it with the horrible gulas attempt).

We went to this place on Halloween as we saw it had good reviews and it was quite central. Never been to a themed restaurant like this before and it was amazing! The atmosphere was great, staff were friendly and in costume, the restaurant had a great medieval feel to it. There wasn’t an amazing choice on the menu which at first weren’t overly impressed and ten we noticed sharing platters, what ever you do order a sharing platter!!! They need to promote them more it was an incredible experience! And for once I let food defeat me. We ordered and was told that we are not allowed to use forks! Funny experience we had a goblet of water to wash our hands with whilst eating it was entertaining and so different! However maybe not ideal for a romantic date! The food came and it was a platter of mixed meats, salad and potatoes for 2 however you could have easily fed 4 it was so big! I have never seen that much food for 2 people! The food was delicious and even came with garlic butter to spread on the meat. All that food, a couple of beers and water came to the equivalent of around 19€ in total!! We were shocked at how cheap this restaurant was for the amount and quality of food we got it was unbelievable. Fresh and fun experience, good service, great atmosphere, tasty and plentiful food and ridiculously cheap! I would highly recommend and even visit again! I could imagine this place would be amazing for big groups especially stag groups.

Been here for a late lunch. Atmosphere is very nice, staff is friendly and receptive. Service is good - been there at 5 p.m. and about 10% of the restaurant was full. Food is good. Was disappointed by the Goulash soup in bread, which is also their most expensive soup in the menu at 31 Ron. Got it for me, wife had a chicken soup. Disappointment is that the Goulash has 2 ingredients only - potatoes and meat, no other vegetables. Broth has chilly powder and pepper in it, is brought very hot, but that's it. This is why they get a 4 stars overall. Chicken soup was good, had multiple ingredients and good taste. We also had a platter for 2 which did not disappoint, big and varied portions, as they have accustomed us. Only downside is that if you sell Goulash, the cook should know how to cook it, or else get it out of your menu and serve beans soup in bread....can't go wrong with that. But bread and potatoes is not a good combo to name it Goulash...otherwise, all ok. A place to come back to.

One of the greatest restaurant experiences in my life. The medieval Excalibur theme is exceptional which already starts at the entrance with some fantastic music to get you in the mood. All the decor and clothing also adds to the theme. The food was also pretty good. For the price, you get a massive plate (I had the Knight's Sword) with vegetables, potato wedges and a good amount of meat. The food quality was also good, but nothing exceptional. I'd have preferred the potato wedges to not be underneath the meat, so they stay crispy for longer, but that is just a minor thing. Also, you eat with your hands! 😄 I loved the atmosphere and everything related to it. The only thing that bothered me a little bit was the volume of the music, which could have been a little quieter as it was rather loud. Also, the playlist isn't very extensive, so you'll hear some songs multiple times. Overal, I thoroughly enjoyed it here. The experience was great and food was a lot. Awesome!
