Templul Soarelui — Restaurant in Bucharest

De multi ani vin aici cand am chef de mancare chinezeasca. Astazi am hotarat ca nu o sa mai trec pe aici. Cam asta s-a intamplat: Ora 18:10 intram pe terasa restaurantului si ne asezam la o masa. Suntem 3 persoane. In jur alte 2 mese ocupate... doar atat. In rest mese goale, 2 dintre ele cu resturile de la cei care au mancat inainte 18:20 - unul dintre ospatari a trecut de cateva ori pe langa noi dar.... parca nu eram acolo.... intindea un prelungitor.... ; 18:35 - in sfarsit unul dintre cei 2 ospatari vine si ne ia comanda. Pentru ca afara sunt 34 grade cerem 3 limonade si o sticla de apa; -18:45 - asteptam apa sau limonada.... 18:50 - vine limonada... dar fara ceva pai sau lingurita ca sa amestecam mierea care zace pe fundul paharului. Cerem si apa. Ni se spune ca o va aduce imediat; 18:55 vine apa...dar fara pahare....cerem pahare si .... 19:00 vin paharele dupa alte doua rugaminti catre ospatari; asteptam mancarea; 19:10 - vine mancarea.... dupa ce intrebam ospatarul de cateva ori si ni se explica faptul ca nu sunt decat 2 oameni la bucatarie si doi la servire... Deci...vine mancarea.... in sfarsit.... numai ca la o portie s-a uitat si garnitura (orezul).... asa ca reamintim ospatarului despre asta.... "Vine imediat" ni se raspunde 19:20 - acum vine si orezul.... Spun ospatarului ca mi se pare normal ca felul principal sa fie servit impreuna cu garnitura... Raspunsul: "a fost gata mancarea si nu am vrut sa se raceasca" Probabil a vrut ca mancarea sa se raceasca in timp ce imi asteptam garnitura.... O alta explicatie furnizata: "nu ne intelegem cu bucatarul" :) mancarea buna... nimic de spus.... terminam felul principal si, intrebam ospatarul daca pentru cele 3 portii de "Inghetata prajita" va trebui sa asteptam la fel de mult, caz in care am dori sa renuntam la ele. Raspunsul: "imediat vi le aduc" - asta chiar daca i s-a citit pe fata mirarea atunci cand am reamintit de desert, semn ca probabil uitase de acest aspect. Era ora 19: 35; 19:50 - intrebam ce se aude cu desertul nostru.... "Imediat le aducem" ni se raspunde; 20:05 vin cele 3 portii de "Inghetata prajita" - foarte bune, de altfel - cerem si nota de plata care ajunge pe la 20:30. In tot acest timp, nu au fost mai mult de 4 mese ocupate. E adevarat ca una din ele cu un numar mai mare de persoane (7-8). In drum catre toaleta am observat ca la interior nu era nicio masa ocupata iar pe una din mese se afla un morman cu varf de vesela murdara.... Achitam nota de plata (deloc de neglijat) si plecam (20:40) cu sentimentul unei seri ratate si cu convingerea ca NU VOM MAI REVENI!!! Nota: cand asteptam sa vina apa si limonadele, un grup de 2 persoane care terminasera de mancat si ieseau din restaurant ne-au urat sa avem rabdare.... Spuneau ca a durat 45 minute pana le-a fost adusa comanda.... La momentul respectiv am crezut ca avem de a face cu niste persoane mai rautacioase.... peste 30 minute ne-am convins ca aveau dreptate... Pacat, Templul Soarelui..... nu mai sunteti deloc cei pe...

Went for a Saturday dinner out. Restaurant is a nice one, located in an old house at the intersection of Two streets. Atmosphere was quite ok, but was shocked to see that it was only the two of us in the whole restaurant. A little odd for a weekend evening. Decided to stay and eat there anyway. Food was average, not bad, nor very good. We had appetizers - I went for a soup, wife for spring rolls. Spring rolls were overcooked but still could eat them. Soup was a little salty. For the main course we got chicken with fish aroma and gan bian short ribs. Chicken was good but the ribs were extremely salted. As a side dish we had fries which were ok. Overall an average experience, not necessarily worth the price. Considering the location and food, price should be 20-30% lower, especially for side dishes and considering the quality for...

Food is alright, portions are good and were served hot but you can order the same things in other Chinese restaurants in Bucuresti for cheaper prices. 38RON for a wood ear mushroom salad is crazy - in my opinion. Also, the menu is as thick as a ...book (at least 50 pages...?). Way too many options and it take ages to decide what you want. When you finally do decide...it's a gamble if they can serve you that or not that day (obviously impossible to have EVERYTHING in that book called "menu" every day). The inside of the restaurant doesn't look bad. You can see they are trying to create a nice atmosphere but they could work more on the general smell in the restaurant. The waiters were polite so I have no complaints there but I don't think I'll go there again anytime soon just because it is too expensive for no...
