THE MOST HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE IN A RESTAURANT IN MY LIFE!! NO respect for people with special needs, FOOD PLATING is the most important for them! They ruined my birthday lunch! I called and booked a table for 5 people beginning of the year 2024. We got there on time, we sit at a table and the waiter brought us the menu. Later he came to take the order and this is the point where things turned unbelievable for me!!! The first 4 persons ordered the drinks and the food and at the end I tried to explain to the waiter, we have an older person with us, on a strict diet (just recovering from a severe health issue) and we need a diet menu for him. The place doesn't have a very large menu so I tried to order a "mountain trout" but without salt and without cauliflower (which was the default sidedish). The immediate answer was: NO, we don't take special orders and we don't change the dishes in the menu because it would ruin the food plating!!! I tried to explain to the waiter it's a special occasion in the family, we all travelled to Sibiu especially for my birthday and we need a place to eat all together! No, no, we cannot bring the trout without salt because if we do it for him, then the next table might ask the same thing, and next another table and so on! I couldn't believe my ears!! I asked him: is everyone in this restaurant on a strict diet?? Finally my father agrees to take the trout with salt, just to bring him a different sidedish (cauliflower was banned for him). I ask the waiter if he can bring broccoli instead, answer: NO, we don't serve broccoli! Fine, then just bring some boiled potatoes', no salt. Answer: NO, we don't serve boiled potatoes' (food plating again!) BUT I can bring you potatoes' in sauerkraut juice! (for those who don't know, it's an extremely salted juice from pickled cabbage) In that moment I said it's unacceptable what is happening and I got up to leave. While I was leaving the waiter shouted after me: I can bring you mashed potatoes', just don't get angry and give us a bad...
Read moreThat trout cooked on pine wood charcoal was out of this world! It came next to some green branches of spruce and the waiter just lit one to produce the scent of conifer wood fire around the table. The right scent to enjoy the trout. I felt like in a mountain forest, on the bank of a crystal water creek, waiting for the the just fished trout to get cooked. The cauliflower puree delivered with the trout was another taste to remember. Then I ordered Virşli sausages with the best mustard that I have ever tasted. First bite was like an electro-shock from tongue to nostrils. "Salata de trezire", a mixture of sauerkraut, walnuts and fresh dill, was another hit. All their ingredients are produced around Sibiu. The dessert, "Mousse de urda", made our dinner to end up "en fanfare". A real "gran' finale"! Although I enjoyed all the dishes, I fell in love with the taste of the trout and cauliflower puree. I left the restaurant missing the taste of that trout already. Unfortunately, I had to drive, so I didn't have the chance to taste their wines. Can't wait to...
Read moreI am so impressed about this restaurant, that I have to think well to find my words to describe it. To start with... the place is perfect: welcoming, good music, perfect temperature, the design reminds you of the Romanian traditions, but still offers the comfort of modern details, original design elements in the restaurant, open (very clean) kitchen, you can see the chef from the restaurant, very clean toilets (I noticed the details like the cotton flower, the golden painted mirrors and the decorations on the shelves). The food is devine! Every single dish (fish, pork, ribs, all the deserts) was perfectly executed, delicious and special. They use local, organic ingredients that give a high value to the final products. The staff is friendly: the chef came at the table and asked feedback from the customers (he went to every table), the waiting was OK (2 top watiters, 1 young man with glasses needs some training), the responsible for the restaurant was very visible, friendly and helpful. This is the place to...
