Another museum for the history fan. It is a Serbian view of the war - and it can be used to see a conflict from another perspective and understanding. Quite neutrally - and that is a difficult thing - it is a lesson how a small state acts when under pressure of great powers. A people that are used to have been in wars for a very long time. It got me thinking. As Swiss especially as the Swiss government was very quick to take sides against Serbia. Even if you have a different opinion it is very healthy at least to see this museum. Most of the displays are also in English and are good to follow. If you have time inform yourself before you come here as this is not a simple conflict to understand.

The museum is closed on Mondays, so plan accordingly. The reason for giving it 3 stars is that it seems it’s currently going through renovations. It’s an extremely old museum and looks in bad shape. There were only a few pieces in display but there was no information about them, so had no idea who made them. Form older photos that I’ve seen, it seems they do have some nice exhibitions, just bad luck this time. Entrance is free, so swing by if you have time

The building is old, but fantastic as architecture. It's going to be renovated. Now there's an extraordinary exhibition called REFLECTIONS inside. The author is late Mira Brtka. "It enable us to review, from a fifty-year distance, from her first indrpendent performance at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Novi Sad & the Salon of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade in 1971, impartially and in the spirit of new Times, a diverse multimedia opus of the multydiscuplinary contemporary artist and cultural activist... " I was utterly amazed n impressed... She was, still is a fascinating...
