During our trip to Serbia, my spouse and I chose Comunale for a dinner. Based on our research, we discovered that this restaurant, located by the river and also featured in the Michelin Guide, was worth trying.
We made a reservation over the phone, and it was convenient to be able to do so in English. Since we planned on having some drinks, we opted to take a taxi from our hotel to the riverside, though walking could be an option too.
The restaurant offers a variety of Italian-inspired dishes, and we were highly satisfied with everything—from the attentive service to the delicious food, desserts, and cocktails. We also found the prices reasonable for a restaurant offering this level of quality. Usually, riverside or waterfront locations rely on their setting to attract customers and may overlook other details, but Comunale has taken great care in all aspects.
For those visiting Belgrade, we highly recommend spending at least one evening here, enjoying the incredible river views alongside excellent...
Read moreWe went there for dinner with my girlfriend. The waitress at the door was kind and arranged a table for us even though we didn’t have a reservation. Apart from that, there was another waiter who served us — around 35–40 years old, auburn, no gray hair (I’m specifically mentioning this because other similar-looking waiters had gray hair), about 1.70m tall. His attitude was absolutely terrible. I believe he realized we were from another country and acted with clear racism. We didn’t want to order any drinks with our meal, and his response was something like, “You’ve come to a restaurant and you're not even getting a drink?” — in a very arrogant and condescending tone. It was truly an awful experience. I definitely do not recommend this place.
To objectively evaluate the food: we ordered one mushroom and one shrimp risotto, and both were extremely salty. We also had a shrimp soup, which was again very salty and terrible. Definitely do not go. Unless, of course, you're looking to be treated poorly —...
Read moreWe recently had the pleasure of dining at Comunale Caffe e Cucina, and it was a much-welcomed change after indulging in Balkan food during our weekend break in Belgrade. The restaurant is in a fantastic location with a great view of the river Sava especially during sunset. The pasta was good, the salad was amazing, and the desserts were excellent. Although we didn't order anything particularly special considering the excellent menu options available, we enjoyed the dinner very much.
The restaurant has an upscale feel without being overly expensive and pretentious.
We opted to sit outside on the terrace, but the interior of the restaurant and bar looked equally impressive. Our waiter provided good service, and we had a great time at Comunale Caffe e Cucina, enjoying the location, food, and sunset.
