Wonderful view of the Sava river. Mexican style. All dedicated to Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. Beautuful outdoor seating with pkants and Spanish ceramics in white and blue. There are some high chairs. Even the restrooms are colorful and dedicated to Mexixan culture. Perfect in the afternoon to have a coffee or an ice cream and watxh the river in the afternoon, you can hear pleasant Spanish or Latin American music. In the evening, it is always crowded, peehaps because of live music. I was told that in the evening, there is the ex-Yugoslav rock and roll, which is completeky different from the Mexican style ib which the canteen was made. The names if the dishes are in Spanish (helado de Frida, fir example), and written correctly, although mispronounced by the staff. Reservations are required if you want to listen to live music and have dinner. Delicious ice coffee with vanilla ice cream. Excellent chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream melting whike you eat tge hot chocolate filling. I think that coffee, sweets and non-alvoholic drinks are not expensive, ehrreas food is really overpriced for the Serbian cost of life. Smoking is allowed inside and in the outdoor part like in many other cafes in Serbia. Inside, I saw a very big choice of alcoholic drinks, as well as draft beer. The staff are kind abd young. Quick service if you only want to drink something, but I was told that it was a bit slow when it comes to food, and this was one if the reasons why I didn't eat here. Colorful chairs outside, it us a pity that they are plastic and not woodden like the tables, because they can get very hot on Belgrade summer temoerature. You can pay in cash or with card. It us a very pleadant pkace, but I am not sure if in the evening it would not...
Read moreWe booked a table here for a family birthday on Thursday for dinner. The waiter taking care of our table was extremely rude, indifferent, and careless. I had questions about the the menu and wanted to know what the salmon steak comes with. He failed at explaining. Our table was filled with water glasses then our alcoholic drinks and later wine glasses and he wouldn’t take the empty glasses! He kept crowding the table with plates and glasses that should have been taken away. The appetizer nachos were moist and not fresh at all. He forgot one of the orders and it was brought to the table once everyone else was almost finished. He did not even apologize! The salmon steak came without any side! The quality of the food was awful! He then brought the birthday cake to the table without any plates for us or a knife to cut it. I finally had enough, asked for the manager, she was even worse! Did nothing and when I told her you need more staff cause apparently he is overwhelmed with his work and cant serve us properly! She denied and said “i have many staff, cant you see? “ and did nothing to help with at least making us a bit respected. If you are looking for decent service I recommend you to book at other places not to risk this to happen to you. I don’t care how many years they have been in business, customer service and management of this place is very poor and not professional at all. We regret having had booked a special day...
Read moreFirst off, let me tell you, this spot in Belgrade has totally won me over. It's one of those places I can't resist whenever I'm in town. Now, here's the twist – it's a Mexican restaurant, but don't expect your regular tacos or burritos here. Nope, not even a sneak peek of guacamole with chips or salsa dip. What they do offer, though, is an awesome atmosphere. Picture this: a crowd of folks who've seen a few sunrises, grooving to live jukebox classics. And guess what? You've got this waterfront view that looks out over the whole city. Plus, there have the parking a garage right on top of the joint. Pro tip: hit 'em up around 9 PM to catch the live music buzz.
Here's the bummer part. The food? Eh, let's just say it's nothing to write nice about. The menu? Well, it's like they're trying to be artsy with it, but it's more like a puzzle. And the service? Could definitely use some improvement. Oh, and the prices? Kinda high, to be honest. But I'm staying hopeful – crossing my fingers that the folks in charge crank up the kitchen game and give us better service. Some sprucing up inside wouldn't hurt either, 'cause this place used to shine.
Listen, if you're roaming around Belgrade, you gotta give it a shot. Sure, it's got its quirks right now, but there's something about its old-school charm that's...
