Well there are two sides of my review, one side says : it's a very nice place to pop up with friends for drinks and food. I went with couple of my friends on a Saturday evening and had tons of fun with the people around and especially with the live music. It's super clean place and they have decent price for the drinks served. I tried 4 cocktails and was very satisfied with them. And then comes the other part : Yes the staffs were friendly, well at least initially. But later they were not so much. We were a group of 7 so after couple of rounds of drinks we couldn't order 7 drinks at a time and were ordering partly at a time since naturally some were taking their time to finish drinking, which APPARENTLY ANNOYED THE GIRL WHO WAS SERVING. She asked why can't we order everything together and make her order more frequently. To be honest it killed the mood and we just kind of wanted to go away as soon as possible. We planned to stay till the bar closes but we came out after 11.30 PM. I understand she might have been tired after a whole days work but could have told us kindly we would have understood. This also happened previously with my other group of friends who said the people weren't that friendly as the other reviews sometimes showcase.
Well this was the two sides of that evening. But yeah apparent from the issue with the service, I was fully satisfied with the drinks, food and vibe...
Read moreI rode my bike from Croatia to Bratislava, ultimately to book into a hotel and watch the Euros Final. I found the Irish bar, The Dubliner. I bought a pint of cider and checked the game was indeed being shown. It was. But the pint of Strongbow cider was, hugely below the pint mark and flat. I said nothing, hoping it was just a one off. Five hours later i return. I order a pint of strongbow and was told, only cash at the bar. Cards only at a table. So i found a table, but was instantly informed all the tables were "reserved" so i found a small bar with a stoll. I took the first sip of my cider. It was below the pint mark, warm and flat. This time i was returned to the bar and asked if i could exchange the cider for a pint of beer. I explsined why, but was told "in Slovakia thats how strongbow is"..... I finished my pint and wanted another. I asked the girl if i can have a pint. She told me to go to the bar. I explained only cash at the bar ? She gave me a dirty look, huffed and walked away. Four times i politely asked for a drink. Each time ignored. As a customer of the Dubliner, i was disappointed enough to write this. They need to have more respect for the customer. They also need to have a policy that works, and that all the staff are aware of. Ill be returning to Bratislava in the winter, as its a beautiful city, but unfortunately, i won't be returning to...
Read moreMyself and 4 friends just returned from Bratislava, what a brilliant city for a short break, we spent 4.5 days on our trip and each night we hit the dubliner, as you would expect, Wednesday and Thursady were quiet, didn't mind that, the staff were very obliging when we asked if they would put on the premiership games on each of those nights, Friday and Sat, live music and brilliant atmosphere, great service from lovely staff, five must mean four in slovakian, our waitress kept bringing 4 drinks when we ordered 5 🤣🤣🤣 it became a running joke between herself and our group, brilliant girl. The drink pricing is exceptional value, so cheap. Now the food, 5 mains, ribs stack by 2 with chips and corn, fish n chips 1, southern fried chicken, 2 very hearty pieces with chips and salad, dubliner burger, chips and 2 side portions of onion rings, 7 beers, 3 cokes, 141 euro, that's value. This is a brilliant pub, couldn't fault it, great staff, great prices, multiple screens, loads of outdoor seating, spotless toilets. Thanks Dubliner great job. One last thing, OMG, Betty Boo behind the bar, if you go to this pub you will see why...
