Kolkovna — Restaurant in Bratislava

Picture this: family, friends, and yours truly, all gathered at this local hotspot that’s apparently the place to be if you’re from Bratislava. One of our crew? Total local. Like, knows-the-secret-handshake local. So naturally, we trust them to lead us to the promised land of food and beer.

So what do I get? Chicken and baked potatoes. And let me tell you, it was like a symphony in my mouth, except the chicken was a little oily.

But it still tasted great, so I’m not here to whine (much). Oh, and there’s a salad because apparently we’re pretending to be healthy for five minutes.

Here’s the kicker: the potatoes? Cold. But did I let that stop me? Nope. I’ve got macros to hit, muscles to maintain, and a reputation to uphold.

Is this a Michelin-star joint? Nope.

But you know what? I didn’t need my dinner served with a side of pretension. I still had a blast, the price didn’t make me cry, and hey – free lavatory for customers! Can’t go wrong there. The staff? Friendly, accommodating, and they didn’t even flinch at my unique sense of humor 😅🤭

So, bottom line: cold potatoes and all, I left happy. Would I go back? Absolutely. Would I bring a portable heater for the potatoes next...

Already my 7th stay in the hotel and an experience of hospitality like every other time I have been here before.

All employees are highly motivated and 100% professional.

No matter whether you talk to someone at the reception or in the restaurant. Always professional, always patient and always friendly.

Mr. Jozef from the restaurant needs to be mentioned especially coz of his professionalism and outstanding behaviours.

Sufficient parking-space is available in the underground parking lot.

Hotel is located nearby the city-Center of Bratislava directly at the river Donau. Just a 10 Minutes walk on the riverside to reach the pedestrian area of Bratislava where no vehicles are allowed.

The equipment of the rooms is state of the art. All apartments and rooms I’ve been before where well maintained and tidy.

The gym is fully equipped with the latest technology and all machinery is in working condition.

Went to Kolkovna for lunch. Some waitstaff spoke English and menus in English were available. Ordered the Cream of wild mushroom soup, Roasted pork knee, and Boiled potatoes with butter. Was told the soup was unfortunately not available. The pork knee was large and enough for two people and with sauerkraut. The pork was ok but not as tender as we like and would be better if cooked and served with some sauce. The sauerkraut was very tasty. The boiled potatoes were good but a bit too salty.
