We stopped for dinner here, having stopped across the alley the previous evening. The decorating is eclectic for certain; we didn’t get the look they were going for. Music playlist is OK other than the metal bit when we arrived. We were warmly greeted and shown to a table for 4 (we were 2).
The menu is a bit short of selection for dinner. We started with a cocktail and deferred the dinner so we could enjoy. The waitress then asked us to move as they wanted our table; we accommodated and ended up in a corner along the wall. We decided sharing was best and order the Garlic Soup and small sharing plate in addition to glasses of house wine.
The soup was great; as mentioned elsewhere and the tasting plate was a nice compliment to it. We are not sure what happened to the wine; we got 2 very short pours (about 1/2 what other tables seemed to be getting). Perhaps a tourist pour or maybe everyone else ordered doubles? Who knows.
In the end, the meal was good and service middle of the road. We accepted being bounced around, however thought they’d give a bit of benefit for our being agreeable to it; such was...
Read moreOverall: very calm intimate atmosphere, good service, tasty food, possible to pay with card, will visit again. Price is average for the area (cca 9€ per meal). Daily menu (exciting food, not boring basic meals) available for 4,90€
This place is quite new (1year). Two ladies tried their luck bringing the best out of ordinary. On the first sight I would not recognize this place from the dozens of others in the area. These two ladies are handling the whole place by themselves (incredibly well). Between 4 and 6PM there s a lot of free space to sit.
Food: We had pancakes with sheep cheese and bacon. And got so much more! With basic food the devil is in the details (and the quality of individual components). It was surprisingly rich in texture and flavors, yet subtle and not too strong. The salad was fresh, crispy, juicy and tasty without any further addition of tastes. I will definitely try other meals next time.
Service: While one lady is greeting visitors AND cooking, the other is a waitress, very neat,...
Read moreOur first meal in Bratislava was so amazing that we went there again the next day. Both visits were delicious! First meal we had the spinach soup, fried cheese entree, and the sampler platter for one. And of course two beers to wash it all down. The meal was delicious and our servers were friendly and attentive!
Day 2 - we thought about trying a new place but Meanto was calling us back. I dreamt about the schnitzel that passed us in the dining room. So, back to Meanto! Another delicious meal. We had the garlic soup bread bowl (so good!), pork schnitzel, and the pork medallions served over potato pancakes. And of course, beers to accompany our dinner. Our server, Alexandra, was super sweet! She checked in on us at just the right moments. We had so much food that we had a little bit of leftovers to take with us. The food is delicious, service is friendly, cost is very fair, and the portions are generous! Do not miss out on this gem of...
