I went to this place in 2021 and will likely never go there again, mostly because I've liked every single other restaurant/bar that I've been to in Bratislava way more than this one. However, there are positive and negative aspects.

Positive: The beer is good and the price is normal for a bar (because many other people think it's too expensive - remember it's a bar and not a brewery; but maybe the price increased since when I visited) When the service brings you the menu card, you also get a glass of water without even asking for it. That's very nice.

Negative: The only thing I have to complain about is the service and unfortunately, many other people on here share my opinion (at least judging by the comments that have been written in the same timespan): The service is the slowest I've ever experienced, the waitress approached me every 15 minutes and asked me 4 (!) times what I wanted, and I've told her that I just wanted a beer. I don't know what happened after the first 3 times, maybe she forgot. So I had to wait for an hour just to get my small beer, which I finished in 10 minutes and then I had to wait again for 30 minutes to pay for the beer, because it took the waitress 2-3 times again to come to me after I told her I wanted to pay. But judging from the "newer" comments, it doesn't seem like anybody else had the same problem, which means that this waitress probably doesn't work there anymore. Or the price of the beer increased so much that people forget to worry about the waiting time, just like the waitress forgot to.. wait.

Update: I just saw that also some newer comments mention the problem with the extremely bad service, so maybe it really...

Rather disappointing breakfast at Brixton House.

We really wanted to like this place, since it has a cool and relaxed atmosphere, but there were shortcomings we couldn't ignore.

First of all, none of the waiters look like they work there. I get it, nobody wants to wear a full on waiter costume but for the love of god please get your staff a matching tshirts at the very least. We were served and talked to by 4 different people that all looked annoyed and we didn't know if we are being pranked or if they actually work there.

We got 2 toasts, avocado and avocado+poached egg(avocado Benedict). The main problem with these 2 dishes was that they were NOT toasts. It was a slice of bread with avocado on it. I actually enjoyed the flavours and the bread was of good enough quality but it was NOT toasted at all, making the bread very soggy and a struggle to eat. The slices were also too thick, but I guess this is a preference as some people like their toasts more rustic. Another offense was the poached egg. Not sure when this was made but I'm assuming long time ago(if today) as it was the first pached egg I had ever with fully solid yolk.

We asked the waiter if we could keep the drink menu to later pick a coffee/tea but they said we can't keep it and never came back to ask us for coffee, so we went elsewhere.

It's frustrating, as you can clearly tell this place has potential but it's being let down by unprofessional gimmicks and not good enough...

Me and three of my friends visited Brixton House the 18/07-24, we thought the place looked nice and had a good selection of food. We sat ourselves at a table and not long after we had our dinner in front of us. Two of my friends got the pasta alla vodka, it looked and it was delicious until my friend chewed down into something strange. The thing she pulled out of her mouth was a piece of a food elastic, a shock as we didn’t expect contaminated food at those prices. We then informed the waiter who didn’t seem apologetic at all, she then sent over the manager. She sat down at our table and asked my friend to explain the very simple situation that she had found something in her food that wasn’t supposed to be eaten. She then explained that they don’t use the kind of elastic that she found, implying that it must have been us that had placed it there. The way she handled the situation was in no way professional, and it made us feel unwelcome, as she never ever apologised for the incident, we got a refund but it seemed like they did it just to get us quiet.

At your restaurant we felt accused of lying over our complaint, I myself have been a waiter and would immediately have apologised to the customer, and never denied that there could have happened a human mistake in the kitchen and instead blaming...

Brixton House is a place we always come back to and there’s so many reasons why. For starters, the food is delicious and freshly made and everybody can choose from the menu whether you are in the mood for pasta, steak, burger or a quesadilla (including vegan and vegeterian options). They also have many great options for food sharing or just getting something to nibble on while enjoying your drink. And let me tell you, the combination of frozen mango daiquiri and crispy king prawns is really something else! I definitely recommend trying one of their signature drinks, but you can also ask for a classic cocktail and it won’t be a problem since there are skilled bartenders who can make you your favorite one. There is also a great selection of coffee, lemonades and homemade deserts. But it’s not just the products - the staff is quick, attentive and so nice. The service is really top notch. In addition, on some days there is a DJ or a live jazz music concert happening. The atmosphere is always cozy and welcoming - morning, noon or night. Brixton House is a place you can enjoy all day everyday - DJ and drinks in the evening and brunch and coffe (or a bloody mary) the next morning. For sure a must try when in Bratislava!
