"The 1 star I gave is to support the local restaurant, and the other one is for the decent food. Would I recommend? Definitely not. Would I go back? Not in my right mind."
I was wondering the entire time how they managed to pull off a 4.3 stars review on Google.
We scanned the menu on the outside, we were interested so we walked right in. We waited a bit at the entrance because we were not sure as where to sit, or that the staff would get us seated. Then a waiter approached us and asked if we had a reservation; NO. We could choose were to sit, and we sat down. He handed us the menus and left. Not everything on the menu was clear to us, so we had questions. We waited a signifantly long time before another waiter showed up to ask if we were ready. YES we are, I wanted the pork tenderloin, with french fries. My friend ordered the pressburg schnitzel, which suppossedly is very famous. We ordered the drinks, and then waited. We were having a wonderful conversation and did not immediately notice how long we were waiting for the food to arrive. After that I got tired and a bit "hangry" so I waved to a staff and ask him if it will take any longer. Right after that, his colleague arrived with the food. Mine was a bit dissapointing, it did not look like the picture on the outside menu. It did not taste wonderful but we were both hungry so we ate the food. We asked for 2 mayonaisse and 1 ketchup, he repeated after me. And what did we get? 2 ketchups and 1 mayonaisse. Okay not the end of the world, but we won't pay for an extra ketchup that we did not order. After we were done eating, they cleared the table pretty fast (considering that everything else was slowly done in this restaurant). Nobody came to ask if we would like something else to drink, dessert, or if we were ready to get the bill. I was really surprised with this service.
After waiting for a while I waved to the staff to get the bill. We wanted to pay by card. He handed me the machine over, I inserted my pin code and we paid. He just put the receipt on the table, so uninterested, then turned around and left. No questions asked, no thank you's, no saying goodbye.
Nothing....

Read moreTerrible experience with the waiters with incredibly aggressive and confrontational communication. Upon ordering from the menu a salad with goat cheese, I was brought a plate of literally just that - plain salad leaves and cheese. When I asked where is the rest of the ingredients listed explicitly under that menu item (carrots, cucumbers etc.) the waiter coldly snapped you should have said you wanted that, too. Another waiter came and started lecturing me that I ordered wrong. They kept lecturing until I begged them to leave. Despite my silence, they proceeded to lecture me couple more times even as we were paying that they offered to make the salad again so I should have really enjoyed the meal. They totally didn’t get the point that what they brought was a disgrace for any restaurant and more importantly, their communication was so aggressive and confrontational, they made us feel terrible and other guests uncomfortable. What a disgrace. Shame because the environment was otherwise beautiful. Never ever returning. I dine in restaurants every day and never wait staff has never this aggressive with no...
Read moreThe food at this place was fantastic, though slightly pricier than typical traditional Slovak restaurants. The dishes are rooted in tradition but have a unique twist, making them stand out. The ambiance captures the charm of early 20th-century Bratislava, which adds to the experience.
As for the food, I ordered the beef tartare, and the portion was impressively large (I actually felt there wasn’t enough bread, which is quite rare for me). The standout dish was the veal liver—despite usually not being a fan of liver, I found it absolutely incredible. The creamy mustard sauce with stewed red onions was a revelation, and the roasted potatoes complemented it perfectly. The traditional “bryndzové halušky” also lived up to expectations. Overall, the food was excellent.
The staff were friendly and welcoming, though I’d recommend making a reservation if you’re a foreigner. They offer a wide selection of alcoholic drinks, but options for non-drinkers or drivers were limited. All in all, it was a great experience, and I’ll definitely be...
