I recently dined at Nikos Monte a casino, drawn in by the positive reviews and high praise for their food and drinks. While the food and drinks lived up to the expectations, my overall experience was marred by the extremely noisy and unprofessional behavior of the staff.

Let's start with the positives. The food at Nikos was truly exceptional. Each dish was bursting with flavor and expertly prepared , it was evident that the chef paid great attention to detail and used high-quality ingredients. The drinks were also impressive, with a well-curated selection of wines and cocktails that complemented the meal perfectly.

However, despite the remarkable culinary offerings, the ambiance was significantly compromised by the loud and rowdy behavior of the staff. Throughout the evening, they seemed more interested in entertaining themselves than providing a pleasant dining experience. They were constantly playing around, being silly, and making unnecessary noise on the floor. It felt as if we had stumbled into a staff party rather than a professional establishment.

To make matters worse, one of the staff members began cleaning the floor nearby as we were eating. The strong smell of bleach permeated the air, completely distracting us from enjoying our meal. It was not only unpleasant but also raised concerns about the hygiene and safety standards of the restaurant. Such activities should ideally be carried out after closing hours or discreetly without disturbing the patrons.

Feeling uncomfortable and frustrated by the constant noise, we decided to request the bill before even finishing our food. It was disappointing that we had to cut short our dining experience due to the disruptive environment created by the staff. We didn’t even finish our drinks it was impossible to relax and savor them amidst the chaos.

It's worth noting that our visit took place when we were the only couple in the restaurant. Considering this, the excessive noise was even more perplexing. It is essential for a restaurant to maintain an atmosphere conducive to conversation and relaxation, regardless of the number of patrons.

Let's talk about the elephant in the room aka the service first. It was non-existent if Nikki, which I assumed was the owner, wasn't there.

When we arrived the host was too busy hugging people, laughing and flirting with some lady while standing in the way instead of greeting us to get to our table. Don't get me wrong, we stood there for a while and then decided to squeeze past.

We had to ask for our waiter almost each time. We ordered drinks only about 15 minutes after taking a seat. This was when our waiter finally arrived. Being a Greek restaurant, I'm assuming freshness hence why they probably took 20 minutes to get 2 beers are they first needed to ferment a fresh batch.

Sarcasm aside, our food took quite sometime with our friends getting their food some time later after ordering, about 10 minutes later my burger, another 20 minutes later my wife her wrap after enquiring twice about what's going on. No one took the opportunity to tell us its on its way or provided some feedback.

Why didn't we leave? Because it was a farewell party for a childhood friend of my wife. Not because we were enjoying the experience. We would've left before getting our first drinks otherwise.

My wife's lamb wrap thing (think it was something like a skopolova or something) itself was flavourful. The burger on the other hand had me feeling meh. Too much herbs in the patty so you lose the flavour of the meat, thankfully you can see they are made in house while the mince itself isn't a too fine of a ground or too over worked while getting the seasoning in there. The sauce with the fresh tomatoe and onion was enough for me to give it that Greek flavour. Don't need the herbs to ruin the patty's beef flavour. Besides that, in my opinion, the burgers were overcooked. With the weight/thickness, you would expect some pinkness inside. The generic steakhouse fries covered in parsley was also bland. How about some freshly cut chip potatoes with an easy rosemary salt?

On the desserts, the pavlova was excellent which left the experience for us on a better note. The baklava tasted great and was full of nuts, but the sweetness got to your throat in the end. Would recommend having it with a nice coffee.

If it wasn't for the owner, or who we assume was the owner, her passion and willingness to want help and serve, I would say stay away. There is hope, because the food isn't bad but only if the staff actually provides service while the owner...
