We celebrated my son’s 19th birthday here in July. I booked a table ahead of time. Reservation process was professional and efficient. I was provided with great directions too.

We were given a table in a quiet corner. The décor is spectacular and adds a real authenticity to the place, right down to the food truck outside for take outs.

The service was average but I attribute this to the fact that it was a very busy night. I loved the hats provided for us us to wear and pose with - hygiene did cross my mind...

The food was good but not so good that I’d make a special trip to return. I’m probably spoiled as I did taste the best tacos I’ve ever had in Texas (and I’d seriously consider travelling for 36 hours to have those again).

It was a noisy venue and that’s because it was a Saturday night and the nature of Monte Casino (with the closed roof and tiled floors and neighbouring restaurants) - noise echoes. It’s not a place for a quiet night (not on weekends anyway) or for older people. It was difficult to talk above the noise and my older parents found it challenging to hear us over the noise.

My son ordered the extra hot sauce and the waiter intentionally brought the mild one. When we enquired about why the sauce was so mild, she said he’d find the hot one too hot. I was surprised she’d made that call when he had specifically requested the hot one. She eventually brought it to us - by which time his food was cold and we’d all finished our meals.

All in all we had a fun night. It was something different. I can’t really fault it but it was slightly disappointing based on the other reviews I’d read and what friends had experienced.

At the end of the day, La Rosa is an experience. It’s not just about the food and it’s for that reason I’ve give it 4 stars.

We had fun and I’d like to try going on a...

I recently visited La Rosa Tequileria and Restaurant at Monte Casino. It is one of my favourite restaurants and it's a fantastic spot for a well-rounded dining experience. I had the Carne Rojo paired with a Mezcal Mule, and the dining experience was simply superb. The food was delicious, well-seasoned, and cooked exactly to my preference. The location was homely and welcoming, adding to the overall atmosphere. Prices were reasonable for the quality, making it great value for money.

What truly stood out was the exceptional service, especially from the manager, Ginger. He went above and beyond to ensure that my meal was prepared exactly to my liking, coordinating with the chef and the wait staff to get everything as I like it. His attention to detail and genuine care made a noticeable difference. The staff checked in regularly to make sure everything was perfect, but without being intrusive. Most impressive was that the staff knew who I was as I walked in, they knew the table I normally choose, they knew what my order would be, and all the relevant staff were immediately notified of what I like and how I prefer my meals. Ginger also kept to his many promises that he made during my previous visit and he is one of the few managers who I've come across that really perseveres to make a difference. Tgank you Ginger...I appreciate the effort.

Overall, La Rosa delivered on great food, a great dining experience, a welcoming atmosphere, and outstanding service. I’ll...

This used to be a great restaurant- we would go there before all our shows .. I don’t know who the new owners are but they obviously have no clue how to run a restaurant.. the waiters were running .. there was only one bar person .. the large handsome white guy manager spent his time looking at his phone . It too 25 minutes for drinks We were a bigger table and told the restaurant when we arrived we were needing to leave by 7:50 for a show .. the food arrived at 7:40 .. this was according to the manager that it’s easier to serve the smaller tables first - we were 9 .. we calculated that there were around 20 people plus who came later served first !! The waiting staff did their best - I went to the pass — a small hole of chaos in the wall .. my request to the manager that he help his team ( obviously understaffed ) .. he disappeared !! The food my son’s burrito had uncooked rice .. my friends pork dish came as a piece of pork only !! Nothing else that was on the menu . We used to live this place Yes the decor is great Whomever has taken over is completely hopeless.. and the white guy running the place has no clue !!! Take that from one who has had many years in the industry- what a disgrace . I felt so for the wait staff .. too few of them .. a totally disorganized kitchen and the food was not what it used to be !!! Avoid unless you go to the bar for cocktail .. and you can look the sometimes there bar person in the eye .. for anything else a...

My recent visit to La Rosa Montecasino was a generally satisfactory experience. The restaurant's ambiance had a casual and inviting vibe, setting the stage for a relaxed meal. The menu at La Rosa offers a standard selection of Mexican dishes. While the options weren't particularly extensive, they covered the basics expected from a Mexican eatery. The flavours were decent, with some dishes standing out more than others. I tried the Nachos Grande. The guacamole and salsa were fresh, but lacked a bit of the boldness I've come to associate with authentic Mexican cuisine. Service was friendly and efficient, with the staff making an effort to ensure our needs were met. The wait time for our orders was reasonable, and the servers were attentive without being overly intrusive. One notable aspect was the affordability of the menu items. La Rosa offers reasonable prices for Mexican, making it a decent choice for a casual dining experience without breaking the bank. However, the ambiance and service overshadowed the somewhat average quality of the food. While not a destination for an extraordinary culinary experience that they once were years ago, La Rosa provides a convenient and satisfactory option for those looking for a casual Mexican meal in the area. If you're in the mood for straightforward Mexican cuisine at a reasonable price, La Rosa might be worth a visit

#Delayedpost So when you are at a Mexican festival, what would you normally do for food? Queue at the food trucks all afternoon??? With the sun beating down on me, hell no. We decided to go get some food at La Rosa and come back. If you know me I don't do buffets or queuing for food. So we left and made our way to La Rosa Mexican Grill Montecasino A great choice I might add. I had the best Margarita, a frozen Pineapple Jalapeño one (Why didn't i order the jug) 😋 🌶🍍😍 It calmed down my stomach, after it nearly exploded from tasting some extremely hot sauce at the festival, me trying to be brave. But initially it didn't kick until I got serious pains as an after shock. I ordered the soft shell crab with a soft taco, and patatas. Then we added the fish bites, and the 4 mini tostadas. The El diabolo accompanied thereafter. Also a great refreshing cocktail. Luckily the restaurant wasn't too full but it was definitely noisy. Our waiter Mandla took good care of us. I enjoyed the soft shell crab, next time I need to try it with a hard shell Taco, along with a jug of that Margarita. P.s another attendee also said they went out for food, all the way to dosa hut and then came back for the vibe. I will never get tired of seeing all these stunning murals. 😍 #TheFoodMusketeer #TheFoodNusketeerEats #TheFoodMusketeerDrinks #TFMLaRosa
