Polpetta Ristorante (Morningside) — Restaurant in Gauteng

I love Polpetta's food. Great Italian food. Also has takeaway option and is sometimes on Uber Eats. It's fresh and yummy and the portions are a good size (and I love my food :D ) I ordered the Sole Mio pasta. You can get it with a plain pasta or a filled pasta. This time I tried Spinach & Ricotta filled pasta. There's a lot of filling in the pasta, which makes it lovely. While the restaurant is covered from the elements on all sides, it has varied seating. Some outdoorsy with lovely sunlight or night views; some indoor with the more cozy and more open sections. They have some lovely pizza and pasta combos. They also got the kitchen in front, so you can see them making the pizza. The staff are friendly and helpful. The manager is accessible. There is plenty of parking outdoor or undercover. Small shopping centre so easy to find. Also, they sometimes have artichokes in pizza/pasta (I don't know any other place that does. The olives in the food are nice. They have a drinks menu too, and deserts. The pizza bases are just right (not too crispy, not too thick) I don't think you will regret it :) Other shops there are Spar, Woolies food, Clicks and some other restaurant places (incase you need to grab some groceries after). My family and I have been very loyal Polpetta customers for many years since it’s opening and know Ivano well. We order from and eat at both branches. The food and service at the Neighborhood branch is exceptional as always. However, I can without question say that this is the last time I will ever order from the Wedge branch. I am not sure as to what is going on at this branch or how it’s being run, but it has gone completely downhill. The last five meals I have had from Polpetta the Wedge have been nothing short of ATTROCIOUS. The food, just absolutely awful. The last meal, (while I can not specifically pin point it to Polpetta) I very much highly suspect gave me terrible food poisoning. Polpetta is one of our favourite restaurants to visit. It's conveniently located in the Wedge Shopping Centre. It has beautiful decor and a really nice variety of seating arrangements. The service is always great and staff have a really professional and friendly nature. We have never been turned away even during the busiest of times. Polpetta has a great range of Pizza and Pasta dishes. They have a variety of other meals such as salads, steaks, desserts and drinks. We have never had any poor service and I am a regular visitor. You can also order to collect or find them on Uber although I prefer the dine in experience most. Prices are very decent and are really competitive which is also a factor for our frequent visits.
