Is this the most vibey Motherland Branch?

Unfortunately not...

However, despite frequenting the branch, today was the day that I really needed a win, and Motherland Morningside provided it!

I sat my laptop bag down at table amd stood in the lengthy queue to place my order...I know the drill, whether I'm sitting down or taking it away, I listen keenly as I await the "Frozen Chai" screams of the servers!!

I sat down while I waited because there were quite a few orders ahead of me...I looked down but my ears were pricked up! The sound that came was not one that I was ready for...but the friendly shuffle of one of the ladies cautiously approaching me with my drink was the kindness I really needed today!!

She quietly asked if I wanted my sandwich as a take away or not and happily went back to the kitchen to yell "Sit down"!

Still completely ready to go and grab my own food, I waited for the call that never came! Instead, yet another kind face, sweetly approached me with my well plated sandwich!!

The smiles, the kindness and the care that they did not know I needed was a wonderful surprise!!

The Frozen Chai was perfect, refreshing and not too sweet, the sandwich was perfectly balanced between the amount of cheese, tomatoes and mayo...

A team of 3-5 staff members are working at this small branch behind the counter, and they are always chatting very loudly, making it hard for clients to sustain conversations inside (the seating area is very small). Also, they don’t clean/tidy up the chairs, tables and floor. It’s a good place to get a quick takeaway coffee, but not a pleasant place to stay.

The coffee is served extremely hot/burnt. The barista is not passionate, and it’s easy to tell. The baristas at other coffee shops (even other Motherland branches) show enthusiasm and care with every cup of coffee they prepare.

PS. Beware of car-jamming in their parking space. Our acquaintances' laptops were stolen...

Nope, this motherland branch is not it. In order to request a coffee, I had to get the attention of the lady who looked like she was leaning over and sleeping on the counter. The bin next to the sugars was surrounded by flies and so were the tables inside - obviously due to crumbs and spills all over it. It was impossible to work at the table due to the loud chatter from the staff behind the counter. I saw staff continue to empty coffee cups into the bin that so clearly needed to be disposed of.
