Wichita Spur — Restaurant in Gauteng

This was such a terrible experience to be quite honest. From the onset, we did not have a waiter assigned to our table. We had 5 different people come to our table. Our table was not properly cleaned or sanitised. The drinks on their own took time, and we were not given enough sugar sachets. Had to wait another 20min to grab a waiter walking past to give us sugar to put in our tea.

Then we move to the starter that was also after so long. We were never checked on, whether we needed anything.

The main meal: We asked for our wings to have durkee sauce and the other spicy. Both wings were durkee. No one cared. The manager came by when we decided to takeaway our meals because we honestly no longer wanted to sit in. When we told her about our experience, she did not even once apologize, instead she went and got us the takeaway box we asked for.

Never going to visit this Spur again. Definitely not value for money. The amount of money we spent here we could've easily spent at a fine dining restaurant, the only downside was they were already closed. This was such a disappointment. 😔

I recently dined at the Spur steak restaurant in Eastgate Mall, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, perfect for both families and friends looking to enjoy a hearty meal.

The menu offers a wide range of options, but the steaks are truly the star of the show. I ordered a sirloin steak, cooked to perfection, tender, and full of flavour. The sides were equally delicious, especially the crispy onion rings and fresh salads.

The service was exceptional, with friendly and attentive staff who made sure we had everything we needed. Even though the restaurant was busy, our food arrived promptly, and the team maintained a cheerful attitude throughout.

I'm not sure if I did something wrong but I found my meal at this establishment underwhelming to say the least. I ordered the sterloin 300g stake with chips, onion rings and a coke as suggested. When the steak arrived something seemed off, the steak was almost luke warm and tasted as if it had been boiled, there was no flavor beyond the sause and once it washed away it left almost the taste of dish water in my mouth. The chips and onion rings were great but It was my first time visiting a spur and it did not live up to what had been described to me, the service was good but it lacked the charm and warmth that so many had told me it would have.
