I recently visited Hennie's in Mossel Bay with my family, but unfortunately, our experience was marred by a few issues. The children's play area, which was supposed to be a highlight, was chaotic and overwhelming. Older children seemed to be dominating the equipment, playing aggressively and preventing younger kids from enjoying the facilities. To my disappointment, the staff didn't seem to intervene to ensure everyone's safety and enjoyment.
Additionally, the food service was disorganized. Our party didn't receive our meals at the same time, resulting in some of us finishing while others were still waiting. To make matters worse, we were only then informed that they ran out of chips and were waiting for it to arrive from Hartenbos and that this was the reason some haven't received their food. It seemed that this was not communicated from the kitchen to the waiters and management.
On the positive side, the young lady that was our waiter was friendly and accommodating.
Given these issues, I wouldn't recommend Hennie's for families with young children or those seeking a smooth dining experience. Hopefully, they can address these concerns to improve their service...
Read moreI had a mixed experience during my visit to Hennies on Monday. Initially, our waitress provided good service, and we were satisfied with our meal. However, as we were waiting for our ride, the service took a disappointing turn. Two waiters were openly discussing their impatience with patrons in a language they assumed we didn’t understand. They expressed frustration, with one saying, "When are these people leaving?" and another correcting them, mentioning that customers are here to spend their money, to which the first replied, "Not all of them."
I found this to be very unprofessional and uncomfortable, especially since their conversation was loud enough for us to hear. As someone who speaks vernacular, I shouldn’t have had to hear such negative remarks, especially as a paying customer. This experience left a sour impression after what started as a pleasant visit. I hope this feedback encourages better staff training on professionalism and respect towards...
Read moreIf you carry a weapon, I suggest you avoid Hennies!!! We sat quietly, sat and drank cool drinks and already ordered food and waited a long time for our food. "Waiters" walked around us the whole time and looked at us funny. Until one of them gathered the courage to come and tell us that we are not allowed to be inside with a weapon and then they ask you to lock your weapon in your vehicle😱. You are not welcome there if you are carrying a weapon. They say that there are signs that show that you are not allowed to enter with a weapon but there is no sign anywhere where we came in.
This is the last time we will eat there. It is very poor service and on top of that, they broke their own Rule number 1.
1st time we had to leave a restaurant because we did not feel welcome. I feel that the situation could have been handled...
