We recently celebrated my aunt's birthday with a high tea at the Sugar Club Restaurant in The Beverly Hills Hotel, and the experience was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we entered, we were treated like royalty, setting the tone for a truly memorable afternoon.

The service was impeccable, with attentive staff ensuring that every detail was perfect. The selection of finger foods was impressive, catering to both vegetarians and meat lovers alike. We indulged in an array of mini burgers, chicken crepes, bruschettas, and more. Each bite was a delightful blend of flavors, crafted with care and precision.

The dessert table was a highlight, offering freshly made scones with cheese, jam, and cream, along with an assortment of brownies, apple tarts, macaroons, and a carrot cake that was absolutely delicious. Each dessert was beautifully presented and tasted as good as it looked.

Our beverage choices included a variety of teas and coffees. I opted for rooibos tea, which was served in a charming tea jug and a fancy floral cup, adding a touch of luxury to the experience.

Adding to the ambiance was a talented violinist who played beautiful melodies throughout the afternoon. This live music enhanced the elegant atmosphere, allowing us to reminisce and enjoy each other's company in a serene and sophisticated setting.

Overall, our high tea at the Sugar Club Restaurant was an exquisite experience. The combination of exceptional service, delectable food, and a luxurious atmosphere made it a perfect celebration. Just when you start to think that things will never be the same post-lockdown, comes a really pleasant surprise called the Sugar Club. Had the absolute pleasure of enjoying their buffet breakfast today. When you walk into the restaurant, you immediately "feel" the classy ambience, which is a combination of very tasteful decor and breathtaking sea views that can only come straight from the heavens. Next you will greeted by the most spectacular presentation of "Covid compliant" buffet selections , of the highest quality that will have you salivating... That also before you can even order their amazing cappuccino! Then the best surprise of all...Amazing, amazing service, delivered with absolute professionalism that will leave you overwhelmed. Lawrence and Stanford bowled us over and hit it out of the park from a customer service experience, and then on top of that, we receive a personal visit from the GM, John to check up on us. Talk about putting the customer first.... Wow..thank you Lawrence, Stanford and John and the rest of the team for making us feel so special... You guys get it, and you deliver it on another level! The entire experience has left me proud that we made the Beverly our choice of hotel, instead of an overseas venue. There is so much to be learned for the rest of the Tsogo Sun group from the execution of this great team at the Beverly and Sugar Club, in particular.... Thanks again guys... Can't...

Went to the Sugar Club last week for the second time (had my parents anniversary dinner here last here) and we were extremely disappointed. The service from our waiter was abysmal. We were hosting my brother's in laws for the first time and it was very embarrassing to remind him twice to take their drinks orders. My husband and I asked for our steaks to be medium and both were beyond well done. My husband's steak sauce was also incorrect so we sent the steak and sauce back to be remade and this took 20 minutes to come back correctly done by which time everyone else was almost finished with their meals. After dinner we ordered coffee but it was delivered cold. Once the bill had arrived and had been paid for, the waiter remembered he had forgotten to add our corkage and was quite unapologetic. We had to wait an additional 15 minutes for this to be resolved. Not the memorable experience we were hoping for from a well...
