lively group of ten Visited the restaurant for dinner and to celebrate a colleague’s birthday. The selection of food and wine was impressive, offering a variety that catered to everyone’s tastes.

I opted for the fillet of steak, which was cooked to perfection and flavorful. Many of my colleagues enjoyed their choices, including succulent chicken dishes, while Sam raved about the pork ribs. Overall, the meals garnered satisfaction from the group.

However, despite the delicious food, the experience was marred by several concerns. The service was average and, unfortunately, the biggest drawback was the sweltering heat inside the restaurant. It was so uncomfortably warm that all ten of us were sweating throughout our meal. This detracted significantly from our ability to enjoy both our meals and the lovely glasses of wine we had ordered.

The humidity was exacerbated by the grill located directly behind us, and coupled with a packed dining room, the atmosphere felt stifling. We weren’t offered a chance to move to a different table, which would have been a simple solution to enhance our comfort.

To improve the dining experience at Butcher Boys, I highly recommend installing air conditioning, particularly during the hotter summer months. While I enjoyed my meal, I believe that a cooler environment would significantly elevate the overall experience for patrons.

In conclusion, I may consider revisiting Butcher Boys, but only on cooler days or once they implement better climate control measures. I would recommend this steakhouse to others, but with a word of caution regarding the dining conditions during...

What a fabulous lunch. It started with us being seated by an engaging chap - friendly, welcoming and interested in us. The view is superb from the back, there is an outdoor eating area for smokers, which is a welcome change from being treated like lepers - although I sat INSIDE with my non-smoking family. The chap who waited on us, Wayne, was knowledgeable, really engaging, had great suggestions on both the food and drinks options. The food... Oh my God! I had the marrow bones - delicious. My parents had the chicken livers and my mom was able to request that hers were not too spicy. I had the ribeye steak as main with creamed spinach, butternut, onion rings, baked potato with sour cream and a Madagascan peppercorn sauce. I usually have rump steak done blue so left Wayne to suggest the ribeye be cooked medium & it was perfect. My dad had a burger with gorgonzola sauce with chips, he said both the burger and chips were the best he has ever had. My mom had the fillet burger with veg and was blown away too. We had dessert too - shouldn't have but did. I had the chocolate lava cake with ice cream... heavenly. My mom had had a Kahlua coffee and my dad, an Irish coffee. Unfortunately both said there was very little in the way of liqueur in the coffee, which was weak. I can't wait to go back & my parents have said that this will be their date-night venue from now on. Including drinks - 2 bottles of a lovely chenin, a Black Label and a gin and tonic, I thought that the bill was reasonable - definitely worth...

On a beautiful warm evening, my friends and I were treated to a delightful dinner experience at Butcher Boys Umhlanga. Despite it being a weekday, the restaurant was bustling with energy and excitement, setting the stage for an unforgettable evening.

We were seated on high bar chairs near a window opening, allowing us to soak in the lovely ambiance of the restaurant. The soft lighting and charming decor created a cozy and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a relaxing dining experience.

Our waiter greeted us with a warm smile and provided attentive service throughout the evening. I opted for the chicken schnitzel with baked potato, and I was pleasantly surprised by the generous portion size and the delicious mushroom sauce that accompanied it.

My husband ordered the steak fillet with mash and mushroom sauce, and he couldn't stop raving about how divine it tasted. Likewise, my daughter thoroughly enjoyed her chicken strips with steak fries, while my son, despite ordering a kiddies beef burger, received a hearty portion that he found absolutely delicious.

Overall, our dining experience at Butcher Boys Umhlanga was exceptional, earning a solid 9 out of 10. While the crowdedness of the restaurant was a minor inconvenience, it did not detract from the overall enjoyment of the evening. We look forward to returning to Butcher Boys for more delicious meals in the future.

Highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience...
