The ladies are entirely unfriendly to female customers.
I came on my own for a drink and something to eat. The first thing that was said to me at the door was "Unfortunately there's no table for you. But you can sit at the bar until one becomes available".
I then sat at the bar for 25 minutes while watching the hostess hand menus to the gentlemen next to me at the bar, and then i asked her if i could have a menu. She looked at me in shock.
I then asked her if I could order a Cosmo. She replied "But you can just order at the bar", and then I told her that it looks like the bar is frantic at that period of time, could she not put an order through? She looks at me shocked again...
I then asked her for a waitress... the rest of the evening, not a single waitress comes to take my order. Eventually the lady at the bar noticed me and i finally got a drink. She saved the day, but i must admit that the waitresses at Hooters do look at female customers in negative ways.
I have watched countless new customers walk in now and be seated amd all im still getting is dirty looks.
No smiles in comparison to the way they serve the gentleman, no care, very little attention given and lack of service skills.
If it wasn't for the one bar lady and the barman sharing a compliment with me at a point, i would have walked...
Read moreTheir all you can eat Wednesday wings is by far the best deal in Durban. No limit and they have boneless wings. The night was a bit messed with the rain as we had outside seating but it worked out fine as indoor seats soon became available. Was a little bit of an adventure getting my back soaked. The wings themselves are a 3/5 they are good. Will definitely return again for the wings.
Edit: Went back again this month (05/2025) and my word was it a different experience. We weren't given a booth for 8+ people, we were given bar stools, and I would say sitting on Concrete Bricks would be more comfortable that those Bar Stools! It took far to long for drinks to arrive. As for the wings, yes they taste fine but we shouldn't have to wait over an HOUR for an order of wings to the table, and then messing up so 1 person only received their wings 20minutes later than the rest of the table, this was on the bottemless wings evening which confuses me even more, surely the kitchen is a well oiled machine when it comes to wings at this point? Then we come to the second round of wings, another 1+ hour wait for 10 wings each, and the order was put in incorrectly - we all requested boneless wings but got bone in wings. A very dissapointing evening from the Hotters...
Read moreWorst experience!!! Never going back to Hooters Umhlanga. The service was absolutely pathetic. Went through for The Wednesday special , 6 of us were seated at the bar whilst waiting for a free table . Bartender advised we should order at the bar so when we are seated we don't have to wait long for our meals . This was around 8:20pm at 9:20pm we went back to the bar to chat to the bartender and she advised it will take 5 more minutes. Recieved only our curly fries at 9:30pm which was ice cold . Asked to speak to the manager who's name is luwazi only to be told our order hasn't been put through as yet . We asked for our slip to show him the time we order and it was still sitting at the bar window. There was only 1 chef in the kitchen running around . The manager was unapologetic and whilst speaking to him , he just looked at us with a blank look and never said a word . It was understandable that they were busy due to the special However they should have catered knowing how busy they usually get being that this specials has been going on for months.. we asked for them to cancel our order and bring our bill , funny thing is it took them less than a minute to come through with the card machine for payment . I would not recommend anyone going to...
