I recently visited Mozambik with high hopes for a delightful dining experience, but unfortunately, I left with a sense of disappointment. From the inadequate service to the subpar food quality, my visit was far from satisfactory.
To begin with, the service at mozambik was simply dreadful. The staff seemed disinterested and inattentive, displaying a lack of professionalism. It was frustrating to constantly seek their attention, and even then, they appeared reluctant to assist. The overall experience was marred by their indifference and lack of effort to make the customers feel welcome and valued.
The drinks served were a major letdown. Not only were they prepared incorrectly, but they also lacked taste and presentation. It was evident that the bartenders did not possess the necessary skills to craft a well-balanced beverage. The drinks were either too weak or overly sweet, failing to live up to even the most basic expectations.
One of the most disappointing aspects of my meal was the raw fish batter. This indicates a severe oversight in the kitchen's quality control and food preparation. It's unacceptable to serve undercooked food, as it poses health risks and compromises the overall dining experience. The lack of attention to detail in such a fundamental aspect of the menu was disheartening.
While the food itself was passable, it fell short of greatness. The dishes lacked the finesse, creativity, and flavor combinations that one would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. The overall flavor profiles were ordinary and uninspiring, leaving much to be desired. It is clear that the kitchen has the potential to deliver better quality cuisine but falls short in execution.
In conclusion, my experience at Mozambik was disappointing due to the poor service, improper drinks, and the presence of undercooked fish batter. It is evident that significant improvements are needed in various aspects of the restaurant's operations. With enhanced staff training, improved attention to detail, and a renewed commitment to customer satisfaction, Mozambik could potentially redeem itself. Until then, I would caution others to manage their expectations when considering dining at this...
Read moreVery disappointed in Mozambik Hermanus. We usually go to the restaurant at Eden on the Bay but decided to try the Hermanus restaurant since the images looked appealing but it was definitely NOT worth the drive. Restaurant opens at 11:00 but staff were still cleaning and not ready to welcome patrons. We were greeted and given menus (food and two different drinks menus) at our table. The smell wasn't great inside but the view was nice so we sat at the window. We waited long before someone came to take our order. When we wanted to order, she asked us what the time for kitchen is... Didn't make sense at all. She then said the kitchen opens at 11:30, it was 11:27 but she didn't seem interested in taking the order. Why give food menus then? She said she will go get a book and pen and be back for the order. Waited long again as staff were still scrambling around cleaning and mopping. Eventually she returned and we placed our order. We asked if they have milkshakes as it was not on the menu, she turned to the table next to us without answer and proceeded to assist the large group of people instead (we were a party of two). Our order came (calamari and chips) and some calamari pieces were burnt... The sauce tasted burnt (probably because of the burnt calamari pieces). Definitely not like Blouberg restaurant. The only reason they got 2 stars for food was because of the chips... That was VERY nice! Food was also nice and warm... Just the burnt taste was not appealing at all. Poor service and very unprepared. Would not recommend this restaurant. Even the N1 City restaurant is much better... They just don't have a view. *UPDATE - I have emailed Mozambik Hermanus a few days ago and have still not heard from them. Today, 08/01/2025 I went to the restaurant at Eden on the bay for the exact same meal and it was absolutely delicious. Food temp was not as warm as Hermanus but the food was absolutely fantastic with excellent service received from our...
Read moreI had prawns at Mozambique on Wednesday 11 December 2024. I felt a bit unwell when I got home but nothing serious. At about 3:00am the next morning I woke up with severe stomach cramps and was very unwell. I ended up having to go to emergencies and was put on a drip. The Dr said it is definitely food poisoning. My friend ate the same thing and also got progressively unwell the next morning. I would not recommend this restaurant at all after my experience. You would think ordering seafood at the sea is where it’s at it’s freshest but this was clearly not the case at Mozambik Hermanus. I truly hope this restaurant stops serving food that’s not fresh as it’s dangerous and obviously making people very ill. I also see there has been a review reporting food poisoning from this restaurant just a month ago in November 2024. Will not be going back to this restaurant again and highly don’t recommend you go there either as the chances you’ll get food poisoning are quite...
