While my family and I were eagerly anticipating a delightful evening out, enjoying rugby, savoring cocktails, and indulging in delicious food, our experience fell short of our expectations. Regrettably, we encountered considerable delays in receiving our drinks and endured an extended wait of over an hour and a half for our meals, with some items missing entirely. Despite our hunger, we found ourselves questioning the quality of the food, yet proceeded to consume it due to the absence of any staff member available to address our concerns.
Our order was inaccurately prepared, with patties cooked differently than requested, unwanted cheese on a burger, and seafood dishes excessively oily. The overall presentation of the food, particularly the sliders, left much to be desired, indicating a rushed preparation process. The pricing of the menu items seemed disproportionate to the disappointing quality of the fare served.
Adding to our disappointment was the encounter with management, or rather, the lack thereof. Despite seeking assistance from the manager, we were directed to someone who lacked the authority or competence to address our grievances effectively. This led to a frustrating exchange wherein our concerns were not adequately understood or addressed. Subsequently, when a resolution was promised, it was reneged upon by the actual manager, resulting in further dissatisfaction and a regrettable confrontation.
It became evident that the management team lacked proficiency in customer service and failed to demonstrate empathy or a willingness to rectify the situation. Our departure was marked by a distinct lack of acknowledgment or apology from the management, indicative of their disregard for customer satisfaction.
Despite these shortcomings, it's worth noting that the establishment boasts a vibrant atmosphere, delightful cocktails, and commendable sushi offerings. The staff, while friendly, would benefit from additional training in customer service to enhance the overall dining experience.
In sharing this feedback, I hope to prompt positive change within the establishment and encourage the owners to address the systemic issues undermining its reputation. We’d politely asked our waiter if we could have ice-cream from downstairs as they don’t serve ice-cream. She politely told us she’d have to ask the manager. If she would’ve said no, we would’ve been ok. The manager of the bar then comes to our table. He was also just as polite and chill as we were. Again, if he would’ve said no, it would’ve been ok. He then says he’ll ask his manager. We were actually quite surprised by what was happening. His manager comes. A white lady from their sister company or something. She came to our table hostile and in a condescending informed us that there ice-cream places with their own seating. I was dumbfounded by all of this aggression that I didn’t even know how to respond. In retrospect, we wondered if she would’ve spoken to me in that way if I was white woman.
Do better when talking to your customers. They might not be the kind of business you want, but they’re still customers. Regardless of the colour of their skin.

Sadly the food (burgers, sliders and squid - all mains) were not great plus incorrectly prepared. Three meals arrived after nearly an hour and the fourth only 20 mins after that. The manager was not helpful and it was really hard to sort it out as staff were run off their feet and not keeping up.
Please note: squid was sent back almost uneaten. We were prepared to pay in full (as burgers had been eaten) but when we wanted to complain about service time and poor quality of food unfortunately staff were not receptive (and incorrectly directed us to a staff member who attempted to rectify the issues - refund food - but didn’t have authority to do so), which lead us querying the refund of our main meals - which was kindly done.
