Upon entering, the waiter at the door was busy talking to someone else. We waited for him to attend to us as we understand we need to observe COVID protocols. We decided to Just proceed and that’s only when he called us to sanitise; he still did NOT take our temperature.
No one attended to us and we just looked for a table ourselves.
Upon paying, the waiter was impatient. I use one card linked to all my accounts. The POS machine usually gives me an option of my accounts to select from. After I selected cheque, the machine prompted me to select Straight or Budget, which is a credit card option and I’ve never experienced that before. I asked her to start again and make the selection for me as I thought I made a mistake. She was so impatient , the same thing happened and I explained that it should not be happening. Instead of just trying to explain that their machines works like that she was just rude and said she’ll call the manager. The manager too was not really listening to us, almost as if there was a default conclusion that had been made that we don’t want to pay. I asked her what Straight and Budget means, and her explanation was wrong and I know this because I work for a bank. That’s when I explained to her the difference and told her that the manner in which they talk is very rude and condescending and all they had to do was to explain that their machine works that way and we move on.
Still concerned about how relaxed you are with your COVID protocols.

My family decided to meet up for breakfast, and we chose Mugg & Bean at The Falls in Ruimsig. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a really disappointing experience. 😔
When my husband and I arrived, my family was already seated. There were four staff members standing near the door who didn’t greet us — instead, they gave us a look of disgust and turned away. Not a single “hello” or smile. The restaurant was EMPTY — and yet we were completely ignored. 😒
We sat for 15 minutes without any service or acknowledgement from anyone. Eventually, I waved my hand to get one of the four staff members' attention and politely asked if someone could please assist us. I was met with rolled eyes and an attitude that made it seem like helping us was a burden. 😡
When our waitress finally arrived, she also seemed annoyed to be serving us. No warmth, no engagement. It was honestly a really unpleasant way to start our morning. 😤
Now to be fair — the food was very good 🍳☕ and when we gave our waitress a R150 tip, she did eventually manage a smile. Not because she earned it — but because we believe in kindness and that everyone deserves to earn a living. 💛
All in all, the attitude and customer service at this branch were absolutely unacceptable. For a Sunday morning on a pay weekend, the restaurant was surprisingly quiet — and I’m starting to understand why. 👎
I will never be back. Mugg & Bean, you really need to sort out your staff’s attitude if you want to keep customers coming through...

We ordered 2 Iced Coffees, what we got was a glass filled with what looked like milky water, at the bottom was some type of Coffee syrup, and floating around on top was 4 blocks of ice. To say we were rather stunned is putting it mildly. Every Iced Coffee I've ever ordered was made with Ice cream & Coffee. Nonetheless, we drank them because we were thirsty, even though for R35 each we felt it was a rip off. Then we decided to order 2 Americanos, what arrived tasted like dishwater, also R30 each, this time I sent them back, there were 2 ladies behind the counter no Manager in sight, I demanded 2 new Americanos, again same thing, an absolutely awful excuse for Americano. We gave up and left, never to set foot in that Mug & Bean again. Clearly this staff have never been trained properly and are left to their own devices. To you the Owner of this Franchise, I'm very offey with the Mug & Bean menu, and you need to catch a wake up.
