I felt that we got what we expected here, which was basic, good Chinese food. I can't speak on the sushi as we didn't order that. I had the "lychee flavored pork" but to me, it was hard to taste anything lychee about it and if you had told me it was sweet and sour pork I would have said "yes". But I love sweet n sour pork anyway so I enjoyed it. I did ask my waitress but her English was not great so I have no idea if she understood what I was asking.
My husband ordered the crispy beef silk chili, and unfortunately it also came with a sweet n sour sauce but on the side. Luckily the sauce was on the side as my husband hates that sauce. However without sauce he felt his beef was a bit dry. And again, because the waitress was so hard to communicate with, he didn't bother asking if he could get another sauce.
The portions were huge! Great value for money. Chinese people were eating there so the food must be authentic. The biggest complaint is that there are no explanations on the menu of what the dishes are, and with the waitress not being any help we felt a bit in the dark. But she was friendly and efficient.
Go there if you are familiar with Asian food or want to try authentic street side...

Cape Town continues to be under represented by quality and traditional Chinese cuisine options, without a doubt due to the misunderstanding nature of majority of Capetonians towards this type of cuisine, where most based on observation will only order sweet and sour pork or chow mein / fried noodles, which is hardly representative of the depth and heritage of Asian cuisine across China.
Service was good and efficient with a smile.
The wonton soup was utterly disappointing, rather tasteless broth and equally whimsical wonton parcel that was so small with barely any stuffing.
The beef hot pot was generous, tender savory, with lots of crunchy fresh vegetables, it was perfect with steam jasmin rice, this dish saved the dining experience and is more than ample for two or even three people, would go back for...

Service was excellent because my friend communicated in Mandarin which helped the Chinese server immensely. We also got a different menu which was all in Chinese. Atmosphere is ok. It's a Chinese restaurant with a small fish tank and tons of tourists arriving in bused every hour or so. I enjoyed it because it made the place feel even more authentic
I had the deep fried oyster which were so good. Also the chilli beef was epic. Try the chilli ribs as well. They were excellent. The food is a bit pricey here so don't expect bargain strip mall Chinese take out. The foods pretty decent and authentic which for me is worth it. If you have a Chinese friend, take them with. It's honestly a...
