I'll just start by saying I am very difficult to please, especially when it comes to gluten free food. I'm not saying I'm the best, but I've spent a good 6-8 years experimenting with, close-to, every gluten free flour and/or blend and I've settled on a couple recipes I don't think anyone will ever beat.

This place was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! They have really thought of, and covered, absolutely everything.

Service - exceptional and so personal Dine-in food - top quality, although the bagel meal seemed a little small Take home foods - amazing (and ridiculously large variety) Coffee - better than most "coffee shops", and I was skeptical to try, because usually places make great food OR great coffee, seldom both. My arm was twisted though, as I needed a side for my GLUTEN FREE DONUT 🍩 I know, this is your face -- 😱 And luckily it was because I ended up buying the coffee beans too 🤣 Vibe - chilled, natural, peaceful (just how I like it). I think the only thing missing was possibly some soft music, but even without, it was great. Cost - more affordable than a few regular restaurants. Great value for money and it was at least manageable to eat gluten free (though I don't think I'll be dining out for a while with the amount we tried, haha!)

This place offers so much variety that we had to test as much as we could. Breads, buns, brioche, bagels, baguettes, donuts, cookies, rusks, even macaroons... and the list just doesn't end. I'm not sure how we fitted it all, and I don't even think we tried ¼ of what they offer. Pies, pastries, desserts/cakes, ready meals, wraps, pizzas.... again, the list just goes on.

I can almost guarantee that whatever you've been looking for, you will likely find here. The only think I could possibly think they didn't have was vetkoek!

Thanks Marc & family for the experience, we will definitely be back! All the way from JHB.

✔️ Brioche bun - (my least favourite, and it was still good) ✔️ spinach bun - LOVED (my favourite) ✔️ baguette - perfect ✔️ bagel - even more perfect (chewy and great flavour) ✔️ cinnamon donut - OMG 🤤 ✔️ jam donut - double OMG 🤤 ✔️ sugar cookies - like they're meant to be, but I do prefer shortbread ✔️ buttermilk rusks - this one is hard, I absolutely love my own GF health rusks, I have never been a fan of the good old South African OUMA rusks, but these definitely nail the Ouma flavour. If you've been hunting,...

Can only review service. Arrived at 11.18 and asked for a table FOR BREAKFAST. Shown to a table and given a menu opened at breakfast food. After deciding what breakfast to eat I noticed it said breakfast until 11.00. This was a Sunday. Aske who I think was a manager who came to ask if I had been helped if I could still order breakfast as it was far to early for lunch. I was told no breakfast.. perhaps a breakfast bagel.. wondered if this was something left over .. when I said no thank you and got up to leave I was told "we are new". Surely all the more reason to try to get clients. Will not go back nor recommend the restaurant as clearly things are rigid and no room for variation... take if or leave it

I have since been back twice to Off the Gluten path for breakfast after chatting to Bronwyn about the above review ......to see if things have changed and to try the food. Been for breakfast and what a wonderful change in service which was wonderful and the food was fantastic. Today I even had something that was not on the menu.... and suggested that it be included on the menu as it was a fabulous breakfast. I am not gluten intolerant but the food is fabulous for everyone. A new favourite...

I recently visited Off the Gluten Path in Sea Point, and I cannot recommend it enough! Off the Gluten Path exceeded all my expectations!

The menu is incredibly diverse, offering everything from hearty breakfast options to delicious baked goods and savory meals. I tried their gluten-free bread, and it was hands down the best I’ve ever had—soft, fresh, and full of flavor. Their pastries are also a must-try; I couldn’t believe they were gluten-free!

The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about providing a safe and enjoyable dining experience for those with gluten sensitivities. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a casual meal or a coffee break.

What truly sets Off the Gluten Path apart is their commitment to quality and taste. You can tell that every dish is made with care and attention to detail. Whether you’re gluten-free or not, this place is a gem worth visiting. I’ll definitely be back soon—thank you for such a...

I called ahead for an item that I saw advertised on Instagram, way after 2pm. The person on the phone told me, that it was from the brunch menu but they would still prepare the meal for me. I got there around 3pm, got seated and ordered the meal I wanted, salmon with cream cheese, red onions and capers on a bagel with 2 poached eggs. I didn't have to wait long for my meal, until it arrived. Unfortunately no hollandaise sauce with the meal, as it's only made for breakfast / brunch. But lo and behold, the manager and chef came out to ask me what I wanted instead, and the chef suggested a garlic aioli, which I acceeded to. Wow, the meal including the garlic aioli sauce was 1st class. I will most definitely be visiting this restaurant again, but I will make sure to get there early. Service was also top notch and the meal wasn't badly priced at R140, including the poached eggs (on special for R120 with the poached eggs for brunch menu).

My husband and I attended the high tea here, and it was such a wonderful experience from start to finish. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, and the main host is an absolute gem, genuinely warm, welcoming. The effort and care that go into their high tea is truly impressive. Each item was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious, you can see and taste the love that goes into every detail. I’ve also eaten here afew times and often order online, and the quality is always outstanding. We’re truly blessed to have a place like this, especially one that caters so thoughtfully to people with gluten allergies. The food is amazing, flavourful, and beautifully made. They go above and beyond in every aspect, and the pricing is incredibly reasonable for what you get. A truly exceptional spot that combines quality, warmth, and great value, highly recommended!
