Blacksmith's Woodfire Pizza (Daejangjangi Hwadeok Pizza) — Restaurant in Seoul

Went here in May 2019 and have dreamt of it since! Never got the name of the place because everything was written in Korean, but finally decided to see if I could find it based on the location I remember being in.

Delicious, authentic Neapolitan style pizza. The staff was incredibly kind, and the chef was super attentive and even though we couldn't communicate, I could tell he appreciated how much we were enjoying his food and he gave us a huge smile and a thumbs up. Let him know we thought it was delicious.

We ate there twice in the Fall of 2013, and I look forward to going back next week. The owner, Mr. Lee, is a wood artist, and has made many of the fixtures and dinnerware and utensils in this beautiful restaurant. The italian food is fantastic, the pizza is as good or better than NYC, and the italian beer is memorable. Great service, wonderful atmosphere. Unfortunately I visited on the weekend when it was most busy with over a 40 minute wait for a table, however they were super friendly and offered takeaway under 20 minutes. Upon entry you can enter your phone number and they will call you when your table is almost ready which is handy. It isn't the most prestigious venue to eat at looks wise however they had the best wood fire pizza so far I've tasted in seoul.
