Took my wife and brother-in-law here for a fancy dinner and had a pleasant experience. Very cozy vibe, and hands down top notch quality food. I had the dry aged USDA ribeye with lobster tail and asparagus. My wife and her brother shared the porterhouse with scallops which was ample enough for both of them. We also had a Cesar salad to start which was crisp, fresh and delicious! We shared the fired rice gratin, which is essentially a delicious kimchi fried rice. I had two double Glenfiddich 15 years and my brother-in-law had a mojito, plus the 3 of is shared a bottle of wine. My total bill was around $330. The service was superb, and the food cooked perfectly. It was an awesome experience and I'd love to go back again. I do have 3 disappointments however, and they are that with the whiskey selection being as impressive as it is, the inability to make a simple old fashioned or Manhattan was disappointing. Their cocktail listing is sub-par at best. While the mojito was tasty it did absolutely nothing to stand out. Stick with wine if you choose to have a drink with your meal here. Lastly, the scallops while cooked perfectly were small and lackluster at best. The porterhouse came with three very small scallops and they were definitely not worth the $11 price tag. So avoid those! Other than those minor inconveniences, I still had a phenomenal experience and will gladly be back in the future. If you want a good upscale steakhouse, look no further than...
Read moreThe food (which is the essence of the restaurant) was reasonably good, albeit not the caliber of the price they charge. For example, premier US steakhouse is better than here (with similar price range). But not a lot of places in South Korea that serves good steak. Soup salty. Quite Koreanized western dishes. - so 3 stars. The service was unfortunately the negative factor here. Lack of details, ignoring (repeatedly) customer needs. However, individual servers seem very polite. They want to do their best but they were not trained well as a premium restaurant servers - 2 stars. The manager really should get 1 star responsible for this problem. The atmosphere is also reasonably good and could be better but you cannot do the whole interior again to improve from 4 to 5 stars.
ps. Corkage - free for 1 bottle (upside). Also it seems they have some very good wines in the cellar. I noticed many bottles of Frederic Roch (the famous biodynamic in Bourgogne) lying around. If the restaurant could improve their food and service matching to the wine level - then this could be a...
Read moreSecond best steak restaurant in Korea from my point of view but the bar is low since Iits been awhile since I have had steak in Korea. It's been more than five years before venturing outside for one because of a bad experience where my friend and I paid an arm and a leg for Korea's most expensive but worst steak house. The sides were great, the cut beautiful and cooked exactly as prescribed and the wine we ordered enhancing to the experience. It has made me believe that Korea can prepare a good steak just as well as...
