I grow up in India and I and my family love Indian food. While we are traveling throw Asia, I love to go around the world Indian restaurants.
Tonight, my seven-year-old ware having Indian food craving, so we walked about 20 to 25 minutes to Durga Indian restaurant.
We order Kadai chicken and Chicken biryani both dishes ware not marked spicy on menu although some were. When we ordered we told “please make mild” because of my husband and daughter (also they both clearly white) and waiter said off course.
Forget about not spicy. They made Kadai chicken extra spicy even for me. Who grow up eating spicy food. When I look for the waiter, he was gone who knows where, and we were the only customer in entire restaurant.
After I walked around, I found him, I mention “I asked you not spicy please” he said “it’s not spicy” after about 30 second he grabs the dish and took it to the kitchen and brought back with mixed in some yogurt and perhaps sugar.
Well, my husband say’s his stomach is burning with this so he can’t eat, and my daughter clearly couldn’t eat there so she came hungry. We felt so bad for our poor child.
I would not recommend this restaurant because I didn’t fled welcome our caring for...
Read moreWe arrived later on Christmas Day after being turned away from the local taco joint. Here we were welcomed with a warm smile and great attentive service in English. My partner and I both got the VIP dinner set for 30,000 won and it was completely worth it. You get a shrimp salad and fried veggie dish similar to bajia which were both great. Then the grilled course of giant grilled prawn, chicken Tikka, and grilled lamb. They were all delicious. Then when you have no room your giant naan and curry arrive and you find room. I got the lamb vindalo which was not too spicy. It was delightfully warm but didn't light my hair on fire. I would recommend it. On top of all that you get a drink. I chose mago lassie because I love it. I cannot speak to authenticity or whatever, but I can say it was worth every penny and I greatly enjoyed the kindness of the owner in staying open five minutes while we finished our meal. Highly recommend a trip here if you're looking for good South Asian cuisine...
Read moreWe were very hungry and wanted to find an Indian restaurant for good food but what we found is a Nepalese/ Indian restaurant where the preparation is predominantly Nepalese style. The restaurant is nicely located and the decor and interiors and clean and nice. We were pleasantly greeted by the people inside and we could order what we wanted to but craved for the taste that we are used to. But nevertheless, we were happy to get something close to Indian food. The ordered onion pagoda, dal, chicken biryani and roti and all of them tasted okay. The service was good and in reasonable time. The atmosphere is nice and the 4 star is actually for the atmosphere...
