I’d been looking for somewhere to get a good facial and while I’d searched FB and recommendations of friends, I probably should have just Google Mapped it. I found the listing for Line and I was skeptical about the universally positive reviews. Not even one 4-star review? Even though I’m of Korean heritage and speak the language, still wanted somewhere that I could communicate with in English if I needed. My first interactions were via WhatsApp and I found the business to be quickly responsive and I was able to set up an appointment for the following morning. I couldn’t decide which service I wanted so I asked if I could decide once I was there and had a consultation. That was no problem and they were accommodating of that request. I arrived a few minutes early and was greeted warmly. Because it’s a small clinic, there isn’t a lot of extra space, but everything was clean and well-maintained. I later asked if they recommended arriving early and they said, they actually prefer people to get there promptly at the scheduled appointment time. Once you’re seated you’ll be asked to remove your shoes and socks and put on slippers. You’ll review your service, pay (small discount if you pay in cash) and then be escorted to the changing room where you’ll dress in their treatment shorts/gown. Once changed you’ll do the foot soak and be offered a tea of Solomon’s seal (a plant with healing properties). The person who seemed to be an owner/manager offered to take a few pictures while seated here. After a few minutes, I was escorted to the treatment area. I think there were 3 treatment tables in a room with pristine white drapes. The facial I chose was the pore cleansing and it was really good. The 70-min treatment included myofacial craniosacral massage, neck and shoulder massage, typical cleanse, hydration and suction extractions. There were other elements including some light therapy and other fancy instruments that buzzed and beeped. Probably too sophisticated for me to even understand in English. I wasn’t concerned though. After the treatment was all done, I felt refreshed with a glow. I took a minute to ask some questions I had that others might find helpful when considering booking an appointment. I already mentioned the timing piece and not being asked specifically to arrive earlier than scheduled. I asked how far out do they take reservations. She answered that while people book appointments as far out as 6 months+, the sweet spot is between a week to a few days out. They can accommodate walk-ins if there’s availability, but they’re often fully booked. Some of the combined packages required in-person appointment setup and payment (no online payment process as of now). Tipping is completely optional and not expected (as is the case in Korea generally), but of course they’re gracious and grateful when a customer does show their appreciation. Full disclosure: While there is a token gift offered for a positive review, I did not ask for nor receive one. I genuinely had a great experience and would definitely go back and would gladly refer friends and family. Bottom line: It can be intimidating for a foreigner to cold call a business seeking a service. This place made it really easy and comfortable and they offered a stellar experience for the price. The location in central Seoul in the heart of the Myeongdong shopping area was super convenient.

Read moreHaving read positive reviews about the anti aging24k gold facial, I decided to book this facial. When I initially visited Line Esthe, the receptionist was agreeable but not fantastically welcoming. I booked my appointment and she informed me I had to pay upfront.
On the day of my appointment, the receptionist asked for payment and I informed her I had already paid and showed her my proof of payment. This led me to believe that I could have paid on the day of my appointment and why had they asked me to pay when I booked?
My facialist was good and throughout the treatment kept asking me if I was ok. The facial involved of course the 24k gold mask with a lot of face massaging and shoulder massaging and using a machine with different facial tools including I believe suctioning / vacuuming of pores and so forth. They even used the medicube facial tool which I have at home. Another mask was layered on the gauze that was wrapped around my face.
After the facial, my face did look notably brighter and plumper. The massage cost approximately £106.00 and lasted 100 mins. You have the option to add on the Hifu treatment for an additional £50.00.
My experience was lovely and they give you an after care pack for one evening use and the morning after consisting of a face mask and various serums etc. I would...
Read moreWonderful experience all-around! We got the pore cleansing facial for a 16-year old boy with acne while on vacation, visiting from the U.S. He had never done any type of facial, massage, mani/pedi treatment at all and was comfortable trying it out. It was the total “reset” he needed for his skin, and has done nothing special since we got back other than washing his face regularly and moisturize, and his skin continues to look great weeks after the facial. The front staff were very friendly and spoke English fairly well, so it was easy to communicate. There are discounted prices if you pay in cash. We came by in the morning, got an appointment for that afternoon, and everything ran right on time. You are really transported to a soothing and quiet environment, a welcome break from the bustling Myeong-Dong streets. We were there on a summer weekend, which is the busiest, but you could do a walk-in during non-peak times and probably during the week as well. I was surprised to find any establishment with a perfect streak of only 5-star reviews on Google. There are many facial shops in Myeong-dong and was tough to tell them apart, but when I came across Line Esthe with a perfect 5.0 rating across a large number of reviews, it made the decision easy. Would definitely go back if I visit...
