A Korean friend brought me here to get a taste of some new wave Korean food while I was visiting Seoul. Highly recommend coming here for dinner if you're in the Apgujeong neighborhood. It's good for a small group meetup, and I really enjoyed the food and the restaurant's unique take on some more traditional dishes.
My favorite dish of the night was the buddae jigae, which came with a healthy heap of cheese that made the stew nice and creamy. I also really liked the potato crisps and the bossam, which came with fresh garlic and sesame sauce which paired perfectly with it. Hojokban offers a modern twist on Korean comfort foods like fried rice (볶음밥), galbi (갈비), rice balls (주먹밥) and pork jowl (수육). The food itself is quite good.
I ordered their Cheongdam Rice Balls and Garlic Pork Jowl. Their pork jowl is quite tender and the rice balls are quite decent as well.
