LOTTERIA — Restaurant in Seoul

Lotteria is the premier Korean fast-food brand - their rendition of McDonald's even before McDonald's entered the country. And for the past many decades, I guess Lotteria has been keeping up with the competition given that it still exists.

This particular branch should be their flagship store - situated in the middle of Lotte World Mall. I mean this is literally Lotte's home turf and if I was Lotte, I would've made this Lotteria experience special. Well you don't need to expect much. It's just about a passable fast-food restaurant atmosphere.

But what's even worse is the food quality. Given that this is a Korean brand, you would REALLY think they would have innovated with local ingredients like kimchi, hottuk, and other local delights. Again, wrong answer. There's nothing of that sort. No imagination. No creativity. And the "bulgogi" burger just has a cheap patty with soy sauce.

Now do they get the burger right? Definitely a step lower than McDonald's. So this says it all.

If you're in Korea, you do not need to visit Lotteria. You get below average burgers for the same price as McDonald's and greatly misses out on opportunities to experience culinary innovation.

Lotteria, please give me a message. I have many different ways to turn you guys around.

If you're a foreigner and just need a quick bite, Lotteria is a good choice. You can order from the kiosks. English is available, pay using your card and get your order in minutes. Let me warn you though, it's not that great. TBH, McDonalds is better and I'm not even a MickeyD fan.

Their fries was stale, the burger was room temperature. But it does the job and I can continue on exploring the huge mall. I could have had a better meal at any...

Very busy location since it is near lotte sky tower and aquariam. Got their hanwoo bulgulgi and it was very good. Inwould describe the taste like a korean version of barbecue sauce. Smokey, savory, with a hint of sweetness. We also got the seasoned fries. Both the onion and chili flavored fries. The onion one was best. Reminded me of sour cream and onion flavor. Would definitely try their other...
