I had an absolutely wonderful dining experience at Myeongdong Joomak and can’t recommend it highly enough. As someone with specific dietary restrictions, I’m always a bit nervous trying new restaurants, but this place exceeded all my expectations.

The vegetarian options here are truly exceptional - not just an afterthought, but thoughtfully crafted dishes that are bursting with flavor. You can tell the kitchen takes real care in preparing plant-based meals that are satisfying and delicious.

What really made this visit special, though, were the incredible servers Sudha and Nisha. Despite the restaurant being quite busy, both of them went above and beyond to ensure my dietary needs were completely understood and respected. They took the time to walk me through the menu, made excellent recommendations, and even checked back multiple times to make sure everything was perfect.

Beyond their professionalism, Sudha and Nisha were genuinely warm and friendly. They made me feel so welcome and even took time to chat about my visit to Seoul, sharing some great local tips. It’s rare to find service that feels both expertly attentive and personally caring.

The atmosphere was lively and authentic, and the food arrived promptly despite how busy they were. Every dish was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Myeongdong Joomak has definitely earned a spot on my must-return list for future...

Joomak is an absolute gem for any foodie, especially those on a budget or with plant-based diets! As someone who’s backpacked through dozens of countries, finding a place like Joomak is a rare treat. Not only does it serve some of the most creative Korean-inspired vegan and vegetarian dishes, but it does so without breaking the bank—seriously, the value for money here is unbeatable.

The menu is a plant-based traveler’s dream. Think tofu teriyaki that’s perfectly glazed, mushroom pizzas with just the right balance of umami, and a creamy soybean milk pasta that feels like a hug in a bowl. They’ve nailed the art of delivering bold, authentic flavors while keeping everything fresh and healthy. It’s the kind of spot where even meat-eaters wouldn’t...

Review for Myeongdong Joommak

If you’re craving authentic Korean fried chicken in the heart of Myeongdong, Myeongdong Joommak is a must-visit. This cozy spot offers crispy, flavorful chicken with a perfect balance of crunch and juiciness. The sauces are rich and well-seasoned, whether you go for the classic soy garlic, spicy, or sweet and tangy options.

The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a great place to enjoy a casual meal with friends. Pair your chicken with a cold beer or soju for the ultimate Korean chimaek experience. Service is friendly and efficient, though it can get busy during peak hours.

Overall, Myeongdong Joommak delivers on taste, quality, and authenticity—a solid choice for fried chicken lovers...

Yum yum yum! The vegetarian mandu sundubu was calling my name as it was cold outside and I was hoping for a steaming bowl of deliciousness to warm up. The waitress was very kind (checked in that I was ok with ingredients to make it vegan vs vegetarian). This hit the spot perfectly! The broth was so tasty, paired with the crunchy veggies and silky tofu, yummy mandu (did fall apart but that didnt matter as it was so good!). The banchan was yum too as the kimchi added a little heat and the bean sprouts gave an added sour note. We also tried the yuzu which was a hot sweet lemony drink and the traditional sikhye which was worth trying to for a sweet drink at the end of our meal. Overall, excellent option and glad we decided to try this place!

★★★★★ Myeongdong Joomak made my day from the moment I arrived! The wonderful person at the entrance immediately offered me a vegetarian menu, which was incredibly thoughtful and appreciated. The food itself was fantastic. Seriously, the best french fries I've had in a long time! The prices were also very reasonable, offering great value. It's a huge plus that the spice level is optional, so you can customize your meal. The service was exceptionally friendly, and it's super convenient that English is spoken. I wholeheartedly recommend this place! Just a heads-up: it can be a little tricky to find since it's located on the second floor, but it's absolutely worth the effort to seek out.
