Myeongdong Tourist Information Center (MDTIC) — Attraction in Seoul

Finding the location was quite challenging despite using Naver, as the entrance is tucked away under a building.

I was disappointed by the rushed service. Despite arriving before a couple, the hostess attended to them first with detailed information. When I mentioned I was only in Seoul for a week, I was given just a map and brochure without any explanation. It was evident that I did not receive the same level of service as the white couple (I have tan skin, by the way).

During my second visit to make purchases, I encountered the same indifferent treatment. Interestingly, while another customer (who appeared Caucasian) was offered a bag, I was neither given a bag nor acknowledged when I said goodbye.

Experiencing such poor service twice in a tourism center that prides itself on welcoming visitors worldwide is disheartening. I hope the establishment can improve its customer service standards to ensure a welcoming experience for every visitor, regardless of their background...

I am amazed by the helpfulness of the staff and kudoz to the people working there. We came here twice with what I must admit where pretty unusual and uncommon questions.

Not only where they able to successfully answer our inquiries, but on the one occasion we expected to receive no adequate resolution, they went above and beyond to research online (for quite a bit of time I might add) to offer alternatives to what we were looking for.

This place is very helpful for tourists. They have customer service assistants who can speak different languages such as English, Chinese, Japanese, etc. It's a cozy place with a lot of information brochures and booklets. You can purchase or pick your Seoul Discovery Pass in this place. A bank is also available inside the building should you need your Money changed.
