I checked in this hotel two days ago. First my request for a double bed was totaly useless. Luckily the front dest staff miss Kim was nice and helped me to block for the next day. When I checked in I was suprised that the hotel room (even is 269sqft) was difficult to accomodate two 28in luggages. Bed was too soft like sleeping on water bed. The next day I have to check out at 11am and recheck in only after 3pm. So on on 6th, I rechecked in again. Now this room was better but still the layout was difficult to comfortable put in two large luggages. We have to placed one below the table and moved the chair to the entrance. At night when we came back, the room was really hot. We found out that the heater was malfunction. Even opening the two small windows, it was still hot. However, later in the night, the cold wind brought us some relief. Still, we decided to extend two more nights as it was convenient. I asked the front desk if there is any double room left on 8th and 9th and she said yes on 8th of Jan. However 9th, I have to move to twin beds room. So I booked through Agoda and the front desk confirmed that I could stay at the same rrom for additional night. After an hour, I received a call from the front desk ssying sorry and I need to move on monday. This time I did not agree and requested the ftont office manager or hotel manager to call me.
After speaking to the front desk miss Kim, she is willing to speak to her manager again. Hope this time she could help me, provide better services as I am also from hotel line. One Wyndham hotel General Manager is one of my company advisor too. I just received a good news that Miss Kim able to speak to her manager and I could continue to stay till...
Read moreI wanted a room at a reasonable price near the subway with easy access to the airport shuttle bus and restaurants. This hotel fits all the criteria. IT is on the subway route with an entrance only a minute walk away. The airport shuttle bus is also just a quick walk down the street. It is in the Myeongdong area, which is full of restaurants, shopping and street food at night. The staff was friendly and the room was very clean. The entrance is not easy to see as it is not a independent free standing building, but part of a building complex so it is a doorway with signage. I opted not to have my room made up every day but they still dropped off fresh towels and bottled water (free water) in front of the door which was a nice touch. It was a good value for the price. In the photos you can see the street location , which is busy even when I arrived at 10:00pm, and full of retail and office buildings. The street vendors, restaurants and shops are located in an area behind the hotel. Again just a minute or two walk away. The whole area looked clean and safe. Subway: One transfer when coming from the airport so very easy to navigate. From airport you travel to Seoul station which is about a dozen stops then 2 more after the transfer. It is a good distance and took close to an hour. Really low cost, thinking it was under $4:00 US. The airport shuttle was more, 17,000 so about $13.00 US and closer to 1.5 hour drive. I believe the stop almost in front of the hotel was #10 with the Shuttle around subway stop #9 as...
Read morePros: prime location at myeongdong with the bustling myeongdong shopping street behind hotel. walkable distance to metro and airport bus
cons:
didn’t feel a warm or personal welcome from the hotel concierge. have to 'remind' him of the check in process. told the guy i wanted to check in and he just stared at me blankly? lol
since I arrived before the 3 PM check-in time, I left my luggage with the concierge. when I returned to retrieve it at check-in and handed over the luggage ticket, the staff member once again seemed dazed and didn’t return my luggage.
stayed in mid-Oct so the weather wasn’t cold yet. However, there was no air conditioning available at night. I tried adjusting the temp to 21°C, but it kept automatically switching to a higher setting, making the room uncomfortably warm
the floor clearly hadn’t been vacuumed, as there were visible crumbs and bits of paper scattered around
water flask provided in the room was old and looked dirty, which made it unusable. fortunately, complimentary bottled water was provided daily
don't believe the room size listed on travel websites (like Agoda) is accurate, as the room was much smaller than expected
at SGD 180 per night, the positive aspect of my stay were the convenient transportation options and the hotel's prime location. i wont come back to this hotel ever again. i would have preferred to stay in Chungmuro (just one stop from Myeongdong), where there are nicer hotels for a...
