PLEASE SUPPORT THIS RESTAURANT….please read….
we ended up here because we were originally in the Gangam area but because of the rain all the business in the area decided to close shop early around 8……when most of them have hours till midnight, it was extremely frustrating as we aren’t familiar that we had to call these establishments to see if they are open…it was very very very frustrating to find a restaurant that was opened despite it being a Saturday and lot of them stating 24hrs when they’re not.
We stumbled upon this restaurant trying to find another restaurant that was also closed so we actually almost gave up till we decided to finally pass back to this restaurant.
Upon entering we were greeted by a Korean auntie who seems to be working on her own, which we honestly didn’t mind, we were just so happy to finally find a place opened at night so we can eat, we were suppose to have dinner at 8, but the whole searching and travelljng back to the myeongdong region took us almost till midnight so we were starving.
I’ll be honest the Korea Auntie doesn’t speak too much, however the whole order process is pretty straight forward and they also have an English menu as well.
We just order the Small KONG SIRAEGI GAMJATANG Pork Backbone Stew with Pureed Soybean and Dried Radish Leaf, and compared to other ones we had this one is made a lot milder which we didn’t mind as we didn’t want to have it feel so heavy like some places do. The side otherwise bunchan seems to be made in-house and isn’t too salty which we quite enjoy.
The food is a bit on the milder side (we don’t mind as we don’t eat salty) but it’s more of the appreciation that this Korean Auntie is pretty much working solo by herself in the back, cooking cleaning, take orders etc….Super Korean Auntie as I would like to call her, and the fact she actually took us in vs some of the shops that simply refused us because they said business was slow.
Don’t expect stellar service but be reasonable for what it is, and what the lady is able to do on her own. It’s honestly what made our trip to Seoul a lot more memorable. So we thank this Korean Auntie for feeding us. Please be patient as I said, everywhere was closed except for her, and she was able to still make food for us to eat. So we as visiting Canadians really support and appreciate this effort a lot.

Read moreI don't normally poke at a restaurants bad service especially when it's a low cost option, but it does suck when it stacked. I asked for kimchi only side dishes and it got ignored, there was a table available after some patrons left and they just let us stand there and most importantly I SAW THE KITCHEN LADY TOUCH ACTUAL GARBAGE AND THEN TOUCH THE FOOD.
Also there were some weird brown bits in our rice, we asked for it to be replaced and there were still some more. I also order pork slices soy bean soup and i got no pork slices. I didn't want to inform them of the error because I already made too many requests before. This meal was not...
Read moreI went to this 24hrs restaurant which just a stone away to our hotel at 12:30am. The charcoal grilled spicy pork backbone was a real treat. A menu in English is such a plus! The aunty taught me how to prepare and savour the meal properly by making a rice ball and mixing it with the meat before enjoying each...
