We firstly visited this place right after opening, and were well surprised by the kitchen. It was not ordinary cooked, with complicated combinations of tastes and textures.

What was a surprise when we came back in 2 months and kitchen got hardly downgraded to classical Tenerife dishes at cheaper prices.

Another problem came into the room when they installed a glass separator between chef assembly kitchen/station and main rest. room - the whole smoke is now in the guest area, so you are getting that picante aroma on you clothes while you are sitting there.

Recently we got to the birthday party and had a table in dungeon, sorry VIP zone as they call - in the cellar - it was also not the best experience, very stuffy air, and long time waiting for the waiter without any methods of connection to outside world.

Anyway the place is new and we hope the storming changes would be gone one day and we will see a creative kitchen at higher end of prices - this interior and location deserves it.

We...

Really a 3.5 to be honest. The food saved it. Food was nice and the octopus was some of the best. My other half enjoyed sushi although I think the waiter got confused as they brought out the sushi first and then after my rice dish so it meant that my partner had finished his meal and then I ate mine. I’m sure that was just a miscommunication but I didn’t chase them either to be honest so not the end of the world. I’d recommend just making it clear when you want the food to arrive as it was awkward. They also served my beer in a wine glass which although felt elegant was a strange experience šŸ˜‚ The welcome was luke warm and seemed to be a lot of fuss about whether we had a reservation (which we didn’t) and the restaurant was empty at the time. We were seated and the restaurant was still mostly empty when we left. Overall the restaurant is overpriced considering the other places in the area. Potentially focusing more on the ā€˜instagramable’ as opposed to warm...

Had a dinner here on a Friday with my partner. Had often walked past this restaurant and always thought how fancy it looked from the outside. The interior design of the restaurant looks very beautiful and elegant and prices are rather on the higher side. We were greeted and got to choose our table inside as there were not many in the restaurant around eight o'clock. The waiter was very friendly and inviting. I ordered the Tiradito white fish for starter and then the Tempura creamy prawns for main. My partner got the sirloin steak and we had some vegetables and rice on the side. Everything was very delicious and we were happy with the service. If I should fault anything in this restaurant it would be the choice of the music inside. I felt it didn't match the surroundings of the interior and creating a fine dining experience as this music sounded like the regular music all beach bars...

Lovely restaurant but over priced compared to some of the other amazing restaurants around. Had to book and couldn't move the booking because it was full apparently. Although we were the only table in the restaurant for most of the meal. Sushi roles average €25 each and they didn't have any avocado which is in most rolls. This was at the start of the night so not what you'd expect for the priced charged. Sushi was really good but Itchiban a 10 minute walk away is better. The chicken thigh dish was sensational and the surprise dish of the day. Noodles and steak were good although over seasoned. Was it a good meal overall? Yes. Was it worth €180 for 2 adults a toddler with sparkling water. Not a chance. On pure taste and quality this was in the middle range of our 10 meals out but the most expensive by far.

Fine dining in La Caleta. Modern Izakaya establishment. An izakaya (居酒屋) is a type of informal Japanese bar that serves alcoholic drinks and snacks. Izakaya are casual places for after-work drinking, similar to a British or Irish pub, Spanish tapas bar, and American saloon and tavern. Here it is a fancy restaurant. For food and design lovers. A gastronomic experience. So is the bill. Nikkei cuisine. Nikkei is a traditional cuisine originating in Peru that merged Peruvian ingredients with Japanese techniques. The food remains authentic to Peru, with their own modern twist. The menu at Kai La Caleta is able to encompass the essence of Nikkei cuisine through their three kitchens: the main kitchen, the sushi counter and the grilling station. Had a nice family dinner.

Had a great time at Kai. We managed to get a table for 6 as a walk in, but we were lucky. I’d recommend booking. The place is very modern, welcoming and perfect for a group dinner. The cocktail I had (The Japanese mojito) was so good I had to have it twice. Easily the best mojito I’ve had anywhere. The food was also really good. The gyozas, bao buns, sushi rolls, were all delicious, very well balanced and great presentation. My only slight let down was the steak udon dish. It really needed more flavour and I feel the portion size wasn’t quite enough either. I’d give Kai 4.8, but I think it’s fair to round it for 5* overall.
