My husband and I had way higher expectations for the price. Firstly, the tasting menu is a rip off. You get 2 appetizers, 2 main dishes and a dessert for each person at 50 euro per person. We were also asked to both order the same items. Mid meal our waiter casually mentioned the dishes were all half portions of the normal portions except dessert. We realized if we had ordered the same exact menu items a la cart and shared them our bill would’ve been about 20 euro less. We got the same amount of food and paid more with the tasting menu.
Bread cost 2 euro a person and we weren’t asked if we wanted it. They placed it on our table right when we sat down.
Ceviche - only tasted like fish and pure lime, there should be more effort to balance the lime
Salmon sashimi - plating was 3 large chunks of salmon with a tiny bit of soy sauce, sashimi should be thinly sliced, and more garnishing was needed
Tuna steak and duck dish were good
Desserts were whatever
Cocktails were good
We made multiple comments to our server about the food quality after every dish and asked about the tasting menu cost vs ordering a la carte and there was no real effort to give us a proper response.
I wouldn’t come here again, save your money for restaurants away from the tourist areas. Seems like they care more about getting tourists in and out than putting effort into service and food quality/value. The latter is the not so secret sauce to getting...
Read moreHaving walked the beautiful coastline from Adeje, and seeing the mixed reviews on local restaurants which were actually serving lunch, and with a view, we settled on a table at the lovely, scenic terrace at Mirlo. It was better rated than those closeby. The staff were incredibly disinterested, slow, indifferent and at the end, rude. Management, please re-train them or hire better..you have enough poor reviews on balance to make some changes. We had to consciously try to get attention throughout. We ordered one beer, he brought 2. Food was overpriced, poor standard and we were never asked how it was even though we didn't finish all. We went for tapas as they seemed best value and based on other revews, the mains leave a lot to be desired. Their "version" of patatas bravas was potatoes covered in thick, bland, pink sauce. The bao buns had shredded meat but were spoiled by the same sauce. The goats cheese was the winner. The bill charged us for 2 bread and butter we didn't have, and when I mentioned that to him, he produced a second correct bill from his pocket and said "oh it was a mistake" (so why didn't he say so before I pointed it out?). I said as much and he said "you don't understand". I said I read in previous reviews you try to overcharge and that we were disappointed with the lack of interest and service and would be writing a review.. he said "enjoy your sad life". No apology, no care. Definitely not...
Read moreReview of Mirlo Restaurant, La Caleta
If you’re visiting La Caleta in Adeje, Mirlo Restaurant is an absolute must-visit. In my opinion, it’s the best dining spot in the area, and I’m not alone in thinking so. Having visited three times, each experience has been more than satisfying.
Highlights of the Menu: • Croquetas: Simply the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly crisp on the outside and creamy, flavorful filling inside – a true standout. • Paella: A flavorful and perfectly cooked dish that leaves you longing for more. It’s the epitome of Spanish culinary tradition done right. • Kids’ Options: Families are well taken care of here. Our kids loved the fresh fish, chicken nuggets, and burgers, which were all prepared with care and quality ingredients.
Ambiance and Setting: The restaurant offers exceptional value for its price, and the setting is just as impressive as the food. The terrace provides a stunning view of the sunset, creating a memorable dining experience that combines delicious food with the beauty of the Tenerife coastline.
Final Recommendation: Mirlo Restaurant is a gem in La Caleta, perfect for anyone who appreciates high-quality, delicious food in a relaxed yet scenic atmosphere. It’s a place you’ll want to return to time and again – and I highly recommend it to anyone...
