It is obvious that the behavior of the staff at any café or restaurant is a reflection of its management and the establishment as a whole, their attitude was clearly displayed. This evening, I was walking with my elderly mother along the promenade past this cafe. She needed to use the restroom. The public restroom was closed at that time. I approached the bartender of this café and asked if my mother could use their restroom, explaining that it was for my elderly mother. They reluctantly responded that there was a queue for the restroom among their customers and that for my mother to use it, I needed to buy something. Everyone understands and has likely been in a situation where you need to use the restroom urgently and don't have time to place an order or wait in line. I believe that the two young women waiting for the restroom would have gladly let my mother go ahead of them, but the bartenders' response and attitude greatly upset and disappointed me. If they had allowed us to use the restroom without any conditions, I would have been very happy and grateful, and I would have returned with friends and recommended the place to everyone. However, now I have only a negative opinion about their attitude, especially towards an...
Read moreAvoid - Tourist trap. I was charged €12 for a "pina colada" which was basically a small scoop of coconut ice-cream and ice with a dash of "rum" and pineapple juice.. I say rum lightly as the liquid inside the bacardi bottle he used had already been mixed with the pineapple juice so it looked like the bartender was pouring a pre made rum and pineapple mix, this is purely to give the absolute smallest dash of rum possible, doubt there was any rum in it at all actually.. I was then charged €7.50 for a sangria HA! What a joke. The bartender literally took out a sangria bottle that had been bought from the spar shop nearby for €2 and poured it into a cup and gave it to me for €7.50, nothing different to the store bought stuff which he literally showed me he was using lol in total €19.50 for this absolute joke. Prices are way too high. Sandwiches are €8 for a bit of bread and ham, also not hygienic as I watched the staff put the ham onto the bread with his bear hands. AVOID...
Read moreStopped here having had a lovely walk down the beach front and expected to pay up to 5euro for a large beer as that seems the norm on the beach and marina - however we were charged 39euro for 6 pints (not really a pint at all either), that is €6.50 for a medium beer. We are staying in Porta Maris 4* hotel and it is cheaper there. Not only that, we went on to another bar on the beach front to find large beer €2 - what a difference.
At these prices, does not deserve even the single star - sorry for the staff but that is how we feel and so will not be going back.
To put into perspective, the second bar we went to we had two large red wine (CUNE Rioja which ain't the cheapest) and two plates of chicken strips on roll with chips (fries) and that cost a whopping €11 so for less that one round at the first bar we had wine and adequate...
