Goiko Grill — Restaurant in Alicante

Oh gosh where do I start? I hate to give one star but unfortunately it does happen... today we arrived around 20:30 PM and we easily got a table for 2. We sat down and the friendly young lady helped us order some food. I ordered the nice (recommended) limonade drink which tasted like iced tea and it was tasty. The food I ordered was the Big Veggie Burger with some potatoes cut chips. We only had to wait like 6 or 7 minutes and the food already arrived! Wowww even at the McDonalds you have to wait longer for the food. Amazing how quickly the food arrived at our table. Well... what do you think happened? The food arrived cold. The cut chips were stonecold, the bun was tasty but cold and the veggie burger was actually tasty but unfortunately cold as well. So I asked the young lady if I could have a new plate of food which she totally understand. After around 10 minutes I got a new plate of food. The cut chips were warmer (not hot) and the burger was beyond disgusting. The bun was probably put in the microwave because of the finger prints you could see when you push on it oh my god please see the photo attached. The taste was horrible. The veggie meat had a strange taste (it was warm this time). I thought I was paranoid so I tried another few bites... nope, it really did taste horrible. The young lady was working all alone and more people came inside. Pfff I can't imagine how hard she works! So sorry to have to complain to you about the horrible food. We don't blame you but blame the chefs and the company. We saw like 4 or 5 different chefs, why so many chefs and only one waiter in the restaurant?? You will lose people if the chefs are keep "cooking" food like this. We definitely will never go back to a Goiko Grill anymore. Came here for lunch on Tuesday. Not too busy when we arrived, and the place looks really nice and modern inside.

I got the "Kevin Bacon burger" which sounded really interesting from the description: "Chop the meat directly on the griddle and mix it with pieces of bacon, crunchy onion and American cheese" I assumed it would be kind of a giant burger that had been minced up, mixed with bacon and then cooked. In reality it was 2 patties with a layer of chopped bacon and crunchy onion inside, with a crust of chopped bacon and crunchy onion all the way round the outside. However, it was still amazing! The crunchy outside tasted lovely, and the meat inside was juicy and with the melted cheese and even more bacon/onion tasted amazing.

I got the "Rustic potatoes" with my burger which were really lovely. Like potato wedges but smaller, and were perfectly cooked and fluffy inside.

My wife had the "Smashic burger" which was a double smashed burger which was also very good. Lovely thin patties cooked perfectly. She had the "Fine potatoes" (fries) with her burger and they were thin and crispy and very nice too.

The girl that served us was really nice and helpful. She appeared to be the only person serving in the restaurant so was being kept busy, but was still friendly.

Highly recommend the burgers here and would definitely come back next we're in Alicante!

Goiko Grill restaurant is one of the most popular places to enjoy delicious burgers and incredible sides in Spain. The industrial décor and lively music create a cozy and fun atmosphere, while the staff is friendly and provides excellent service to diners.
