8 Pier Tenerife Restaurant — Restaurant in Arona

Walked along the sea front looking for some tapas, there where 4 of us. Enticed to come in with the offer of for every 4 tapas you bought it was half price. The menu was put in front of us and we ordered 12 tapas, which where big portions but bland and we could not finish them as thought it wd be half sizes! We were also given an extra jug of sangria as they had said we cd get this for 10 euros a jug but then said they couldn't do this price but gave us extra drink which we didn't really want. When the bill came we were charged full price which was a considerable amount, £120 euros. We asked to speak to the Manager and she immediately pointed to the back page of the menu which showed the half price tapas and said this was what we should have ordered from. We relayed that the menu which was only a 2 page was put down to us like this and no one showed the back page with this offer but that was the deal we were offered with to come in. She dismissed us abruptly and walked away with no further comment or explanation. The waiter also brought us a honey shot after this, which seemed to be in token for the money they ripped us out of. We go to Tenerife a lot and will not be returning to this restaurant as felt we were scammed to spend extra and the Managers attitude was to shrug us off. Came across this little bar whilst looking for a place to eat – good beachfront location adjacent to McDonalds. Popped in here on a Sunday and enjoyed a few pints of Dorada and a Pina Colada – all very reasonably priced.

Good food menu – curious sandwich with little hole in the top to reveal an inner fried egg a novelty – ordered a burger with fried egg myself. Always order a burger with fried egg when it is available, you don’t know when you’ll see it again…

The burger was freshly made and very tasty, also good value – hidden tomato, but I think everything in Spain has hidden Tomato… 🍅

There are roaming groups of panhandling merchants who operate in this area trying to sell sunglasses, hats, bags etc – they do walk up to you whilst you’re at your table but they are very polite and do take no for an answer so no need to be harsh if they do. There were also buskers in the area who wandered the bar area looking for tips – again, you don’t need to feel...

I ordered a milk shake at 4.95euros. When it arrived it was less than 2/3rds up the glass - the rest was cream - which I have never had on a milk shake. I skimmed cream off, and proceeded to drink the milk shake. It was just froth, and 2 sips and it was gone - I could not believe it - 4.95 euros. So I complained to the waiter - the Chinese woman came over screeching at me, saying I should have complained before I drank it, and she couldn't do anything about it now.I said it was froth and no liquid, which I didn't know before I drank it. She would not listen, just was so adamant. Her attitude was very aggressive. I don't know how she keeps the Bar going. This price was stealing money...
