Visited here on a Friday lunchtime. Got there just in time to get the last table without waiting. Thereafter, as others have mentioned they queue down the alleyway. Quite a noisy bustling sort of place, with lots of Spanish people. Limited choice as expected. Sea food only (though they do as as a sop, chicken wings for those who don't like fish). I chose fried octopus. This was a whole octopus and was a generous portion. I thought mine was tasty. My partner chose grilled hake. She said it was ok, and I have to admit looking at it and tasting it, I've had much better elsewhere in Spain and Portugal. These were only €8 or €8.50. We had a portion of canarian potatoes and fries and some bread. Couldn't eat all the potato and bread - too much. They also did a rather nice Dorado Especiale beer. So I had two. I'd eat herr again, but wouldn't chose the hake, which surprisingly given the ratings on here, we were suitably underwhelmed about. As regards the waiters, they seemed happy enough, sort of highly efficient. I didn't...

Great food ruined by horrible service. Whilst placing our order, we ordered a dish and was told by (who I assume) to be the owner, that it would be "too much" we still requested it to be made and as it was the only thing on the menu that one of our group could eat. The dish didn't come, and on arrival of the bill we questioned the server, and he said he thought it was best we didn't have it. When we had finished and paid for our meals, we were finishing our wine when a different waiter came up to us and requested we leave to accommodate new arrivals, this is atrocious as we had paid for 5+ over priced dishes and wanted to finish our drinks. When we said we would leave in 5 minutes, said server was seen looking in our direction and shaking his head with the new arrivals, implying disapproval at our presence. We even requested butter for our completely dry bread and was refused. Do not eat here if you wish to be treated as a burden and rushed to...

Rude staff, very ignorant. Very poor customer service, you don't see anyone smile. I know it gets busy but it takes a smile to greet customers to make the experience even better. We have been told off that we sat at empty table, two couples walked after us and because we have been told that we should have waited to be seated, they sat two couples before us. It was lunch time so there were empty tables, so don't know what difference it made where we sat. We didn't order drinks so we have been ignored again. The waiter asked for drinks and we said we would like to order food so he walked away second one did exactly the same. We waited for good 15 minutes to order food. Food was good but nothing special. Just ordinary, nothing stood out. I would say the place is...

For seafood lovers here's an excelent restaurant. El Ciné is a more than 10years old traditional restaurant for lovers of fishes. ... Ok that came out badly but still. I ate a fried calamar and my girlfriend ate chicken/ too bad. In el Ciné you want eat fresh fish. The service of dishes is not the most welcoming, but far not rude or bad. You order, get your food immediatelly and you eat and drink, pay and leave. There's not that "over-welcoming" as most of the restaurants, and after a while it's very convinient. They don't want to force you to feel good to get pampered and come back soon. They have more than enough full tables and try to avoid long lines waiting on the street, looking evel eyes at those who are lucky enough and eating el ciné already. :) It's a five.

Still inspiring after decades! Finally more space thanks to the extension and modernization. However, the original flair has been lost to some extent. But it remains a kind of harbor pub and fish snack bar rather than a restaurant with friendly, gruff waiters and delicious, simple dishes. Unfortunately, the portions have become smaller and the prices higher in recent years. But the quality and method of preparation is absolutely outstanding. Not just the fish and seafood; also one of the best mojos and papas in the area. When we are in TF, El Cine is a must at least once a week. However, it is no longer an insider tip. Reservations are not possible and there are usually long queues at the entrance.
