China Garden Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Arona

Not sure where to start! “The manager” was an obnoxious individual. He was telling us an analogy about killing someone, all because I gave my boyfriend the rest of my lava hot soup, bare in mind we were the only 2 in the restaurant. I was sat facing the restaurant whilst my partner faced me overlooking the road, him (the vile manager) and two other ‘workers’ were on either side of the restaurant staring at me eating, I felt like crying and walking out. The menu prices are wrong & the foods foul, the prawn toast was grim, the spare ribs were not ribs & after him telling me about killing someone & people lying about his food it made me really concerned where the ribs came from. He’s in denial badly as there’s lots of terrible reviews of him assaulting people which he always claims are false. I’ve experienced first hand his abuse & pushy foul attitude, he should’ve been grateful we came in as we were the only customers. Hair in the food too, probs from his ollys! Needs to be closed down. He kept telling me how great the Chinese food was however he was wrong it was like watching an episode of Gordon Ramsey kitchen nightmares. On top of it all every gust of wind my nostrils were graced with a foul smell of BO as he was basically sat on my neck I felt is foul breathe breathing against me. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Hidden Gem – So Good I Went Twice in 24 Hours!

I recently came back from Tenerife and one of the absolute highlights of my trip was discovering China Gardens. The food was so amazing and such great value that I ended up visiting twice in less than 24 hours — it was just that good!

The restaurant offers a fantastic set menu for only €13.95, which includes a generous starter, main, and side. I had the spare ribs, sweet and sour chicken, and egg fried rice — and every single bite was delicious. The portions are anything but small — very filling and full of flavour.

The staff at China Gardens were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive, making the whole experience even better. You really feel looked after from the moment you walk in.

Don’t waste your time here. I was part of a group of 7. We came here in the day to book a table for 7 at 21:00 (out of main tourist season). We got there at 20:55 and there wasn’t a table for us set up.

We were left standing inside the restaurant for 5 mins while they quickly made up a table, it was obvious the person we spoke to had forgotten about our booking and hadn’t written it down.

They were massively understaffed.. two people in the kitchen, one behind the bar and one other guy running around like a headless chicken that’s about to have a heart attack.

We were sat down after the table was set and given menus. We were sat waiting for 15 mins and nobody came to take a drink order or give us some nibbles. I looked at the guy and he gave me a rude huff and then carried on like we wasn’t there.

We got up. We walked out and we went to the Pekin Garden round the corner, everything there...
