Paddy O'Kellys — Restaurant in Arona

Very poor experience , went in to watch a football match with my partner , we inside was fairly empty but we found a nice spot which had the station the game was gonna be on and a nice little snug ... after sitting there for 10 mins we where wondering if someone was going to come over and take our order , we continued to sit there and even started holding the menus up to try get the attention of someone .. a staff member walked into the area we wore in where there was one other person and asked him " did you order a tea " ... we thought she would take our order after she found out who's tea it was , considering she had to walk past us to ask the person sitting in there with us... but wrong we were... she went off back to the bar .. again continued to sit there when suddenly a group of 8 lads came into the bar and where told " how ya lads , yeah grab a seat there I'll be straight over to take your order " .. to which she was ... myself and partner began to question what was going on why 3 or 4 staff we had seen had not come over ( still with menus in our hand to try get there attention ) ... eventually I got up and said I would go order a drink at the bar ... the bartender was making some drinks for the table of 8 lads which had just ordered , so I waited .. card in hand for my turn to order .. there was 2 barmen there ... so as I continued to wait and watch the bar man make 3 pints of guniness and some other drinks another man walked into the bar and stood not to far from me ... the second barman who I had made eye contact with numerous times and could clearly see my card in my hand waiting to order just went straight to the guy who had just walked in and to take his order ... I eventually just told my partner to "come on we are leaving , can't even get a drink in this place let alone some food " ... and we walked out , safe to say will never return either ....

Also side note , if your going to try watch a football match don't bother as you can't hear anything as they don't turn the sound on the games because they have someone playing music .... if I could I've 0...

Generally the food was good. I went on Sunday for the roast. Firstly we were seated inside the pub, it was so dark for lunch time. But we sat down and we ordered drinks meanwhile we were looking the menu. My mistake I didn’t saw that the roast starts from 2pm. We arrived around 1:20pm so I said it’s okay I’ll order side dishes meanwhile we wait for the roast. As soon as we finished ordering the staff brought out the bill asking us if we were gonna pay by card or cash. I was quiet surprised. No food arrived, no drinks arrived yet and they brought out the bill. I’ve been in others pubs and this is the first time experiencing this. At first I didn’t mind but it’s not usual. So we waited around 15mins and saw there was a empty table so we asked to move outside. After being seated outside. It was around 2:15pm aprox. The staff came and took the bill and immediately charged us the amount and left. The side dishes never arrived so we asked the staff if it’s possible to hurry the side dishes knowing the roast it’s gonna take some time. By that time it was already 2:20pm we were a bit irritated already and we asked again the staff and they told us to wait a bit more. After 5 mins the roast arrived but the side dishes didn’t. At that point there’s no sense to have the side dishes because our main is already on the table. I didn’t want to argue because we were already so hungry so we started eating, we were half way eating the roast and the side dishes came, we were already full. We just got to taste a bite of the side dish (jacked potato) and we left it. So far away I’m not going to come back again. This is not what I expected from this pub. It’s actually disappointing. I could have been to another pub with better...

So disappointed with our night here. Walking in it seemed good - live music and packed. Wandered in couldn’t seem to find any waiters to give us a table, ended up going to the extremely busy bar staff and they pointed us to a table at the back. We were seated for at least twenty minutes and no sign of anyone with menus, up we went and got our menus (we were only given one to share between us aswell). Now during all of this there was two waitresses circling but neither were looking around to see if anyone (not just us) needed anything. Again we waited for approx 15 mins and my boyfriend had to go find a waitress to take our order. When the girl (who I’d say was new to the job) did take our order (two starters and two mains) I had a feeling she thought it was all to come out as one so we had to call back a different waitress to fix our order. At this stage we were here well over an hour and no food. Now the cocktails we both had were delicious which is defo a plus if you’re just looking for drinks.

When our starters came out after another 25/30 mins they were very very basic. I ordered potatoes skins and received a baked potato which had absolutely no flavour. My boyfriend ordered mozzarella sticks which were nothing to write home about. After this we both agreed to cancel our main and leave. Again we waited 10 mins after asking for the bill. Really disappointed and to be honest I think it’s down to the lack of service and possible lack of training of...
