Savage Tenerife — Restaurant in Arona

Food great.

Service absolutely shocking. 45 minutes until given a menu which we had to ask for (Q-"Can we have some menus?" A-"For food?" In a restaurant? At dinner time?. Maybe there was a 'torture' menu as well as the wine list and a la carte menus. I'd have picked the rack just to stretch the irony).

An hour and a three quarters until food eventually arrived (by a squadron of waiters who asked us to move the plates already laid down so they could torpedo in what they were carrying..why were those plates there then? To test our livididty after sitting still for so long?). Had to ask several times for condiments (if you're wondering Ketchup and Salt not grated white truffle or hand milked goats cheese). Items on the bill thet we never had (no chocolate milkshake - we could have grown our own cocoa tree and raised and milked our own cow in the time it took to discover that this wasn't available). Asked to swap pickles for fried onions on a burger and were charged €4.50 for 6 slivers of onions that arrived on a separate dish! Maybe they thought we said Fabergé Egg slivers.

Food was pretty good when it arrived though, but it felt like we had missed Xmas...and Easter by then.

If the service had been great, or existed in some relation to the word 'service', the food would have carried this place (it was good - but i suppose the enforced fasting prior to the meal may have clouded our judgement) but its a once and done venue for us. Five Guys is better. Way better actually. Go to Friends. Or the...

Booked on line. Got there and meet by a lovely Italian host Very passionate about the restaurant. Let us pick our seat. Lovely decor. She showed us menus and offered us water. It never arrived. We then got a very young waiter. Recommemded a few things on menu to my husband. Took our drinks order along with water again. Drinks arrived 15mins later. He then came back took our food order. Offered us bread while we waited. It never arrived. People next to us were complainjng about food and looking discount of their bill, which uneased us abit. Food arrived 30 mins later ( no bread at all) No salt etc on table. We never saw our waiter again. No one asked if meal was ok or if we needed anything. We had to ask another waiter for drinks when we finished our meal. Eventually our waiter returned and left a dessert menu which we never even looked at. We waited 20 mins on second drink after ordering. Place was not busy so dont understand the service. Plus no music playing. No atmosphere. Very disappointing. We then got attention of the lovely Italian host, asked her for bill, which she got straight away. Paid it giving her a 5 euro tip. If only all the staff could be like her. Paid over 110 euro for 2 steaks and 4 cocktails. The food was ok. Cocktails very delicious. We probably would have ordered more if service was better. Unsure if we...

WARNING DO NOT ORDER TIGER PRAWNS Booked here on a recommendation. Lovely restaurant and nice ambiance. People queing outside so was glad we pre booked. Went straight to Main course. My companion had the burger and was satisfied. I ordered the Tiger prawns. Well... I was never so disappointed with a meal before. I thought it was a mistake and they served me a starter. There was 2 prawns in their shell and a bit of mixed greens ...not even a dressing on the leaves ..2 prawns... €24.50... I was finished my meal in 2 minutes..I'd say there was about 2 ounces of edible prawn on my plate. I complained to our server. Seemed surprised that I would say anything . There was more shell left on my plate after... Eventually about 30mins later I was given one more prawn and more greens. ...talk about a Rip off... I ordered a dessert to fill me up [American cookie] which was very good. There was a Manager on duty but did not come to our table. Felt he avoided us as I complained...not good for buisness So be warned.. totally over rated, over priced and very unsatisfactory. Will not be returning and would not recommend to...
