Came here with my wife for her first Hard Rock Cafe experience. Short review: The food was tasty, with large portions, the decor was great, good service, but the music leaves a lot to be desired. In depth review: This was my third visit to a HRC, so I sort of knew what to expect, however this was the first experience for my wife. Upon our approach to HRC, we were astounded by the magnificent, palace-like structure where the restaurant was located. When we entered HRC we were greeted by walls of cymbals, covered in signatures from, I'm assuming, various artists who might have performed there. There was a 40 minute wait for a table for two when we arrived, which is to be expected due to HRC's popularity, but we each grabbed a pint of Dorada, and had a walk around admiring the memorabilia. When we were called to our table, we were seated right next to the stage at the back, giving us a fantastic view of the dining hall. Onto the food, I had ordered a rib and pulled pork combination, and my wife ordered chicken burger, both came with fries on the side. Large portions, very tasty, and at decent prices considering the popularity of the brand. The memorabilia on the walls were interesting, with a jacket worn by the late, great Meat Loaf, a guitar used by Sheryl Crowe, Will.I.Am's trousers and more dotted about the place. Now, a major downer for me was the music. For a place called Hard Rock Cafe, there wasn't much hard rock being played. Lots of crowd pleasing, mainstream songs such as We Will Rock You, YMCA, Satisfaction, etc being played, even a Bruno Mars song was included for some odd reason. Queensryche were a welcome variation to the playlist, but that was as hard as the music had gotten. Eventually, the music started to grate, and we couldn't wait to pay the bill and leave.

We visited Hard Rock Cafe Tenerife as part of our tradition—whenever we travel, we always stop by a Hard Rock Cafe and grab a pint glass as a souvenir. For this trip, we booked a table in advance for 7:30 p.m. on a Friday night, expecting it to be packed. Thankfully, we got in on time and only had to wait about 5 minutes. We were really excited for this visit and had been looking forward to it the whole holiday. The place is huge and exactly what you’d expect from any Hard Rock Cafe—full of rock memorabilia and that familiar vibe. The waiter was super cool and friendly, not pushy at all. He even suggested ordering in smaller rounds if we weren’t sure how hungry we were, which was a nice touch. The menu was pretty much the same as any other Hard Rock, but we realized again just how expensive it is. Honestly, it’s probably not worth visiting anymore. Hamburgers were nearly 20€, which felt ridiculous, especially considering the quality. I got the Big Cheese Burger, and it was a huge letdown. You can easily find better and cheaper burgers on almost any street corner. I knew this going in, but it was still a shock because the food really didn’t live up to expectations for the price. We love Hard Rock for its vibe, but the food and overall experience are just overpriced and overrated. We always order the classic nachos, and even those were disappointing here. Another thing that bothered us was the price of the beer and pint glasses. In London, we paid 13€, but here it was 18€. It feels like they’re just gouging people at this point. As much as it pains me to say it, I think we might be done visiting Hard Rock Cafes. The vibe is still great, but the food just isn’t worth it anymore.

Edit, 22 June 2025: what has been a 5-star+ review for the past several years has been reduced to 1-star only because Google requires one. This afternoon we were seated in the dining room (which was maybe 1/3 full- certainly not close to busy). After waiting for at least 15 minutes someone to at least take our drink order, I got up and asked an employee. He told me that he was going to get a server. After over 5 more minutes, we STILL had no one show up, and ended up down the street to the Golden Clover. We have had good to exemplary service at HRC locations around the world (including here in the past). We could totally understand if they were short staffed, but when there was close to a half dozen employees just standing around talking; and to have never been checked on or served for that long is purely unacceptable. I really hope that hasn't become the normal for HRC... Typical Hard Rock Cafe- lots of cool memorabilia throughout the restaurant, decent food, and friendly staff. That said, if you have visited one HRC, they’re all about the same. A couple years ago, I tried the baby back ribs. They were very good. This time I went with one of the signature Hard Rock burgers- the BBQ bacon cheeseburger. It was very good, cooked well, and great sauce. They also have a decent Rock Shop here (although it closes earlier than the restaurant, so if you’re picking up swag- keep that in mind). We’ve been to the Tenerife HRC 3 times now, and will be back the next time we’re in the Canary Islands.

We go on vacation to Tenerife every year and always visit Hard Rock Cafe. We have always loved everything about this place—the service, the food, and the atmosphere. However, this year, we had an unpleasant experience that we simply cannot stay silent about.

Unfortunately, theft is quite common in Tenerife, so we are always very cautious with our belongings when out on the street. On Thursday evening, March 6, between 8:00 PM and 9:10 PM, we went to Hard Rock Cafe for dinner. We parked our car about 100 meters from the restaurant, took a table at the bar, and felt completely safe. My bag was behind my back, and there were no strangers around us. We were enjoying our evening.

At some point, between 8:15 PM and 8:25 PM, I felt someone standing behind me. When I turned around, I saw a man holding my bag. He then said that my bag had fallen and that he picked it up to give it back to me. However, from the moment I felt someone behind me to the moment I turned around, about 5–7 seconds had passed. This man was an employee of the restaurant, and logically, he should have first informed me that my bag had fallen before picking it up, rather than standing behind me with it and waiting for me to turn around.

I took my bag and didn’t think much of it at the time, continuing to enjoy my evening. Later, when we received the bill, I reached into my bag to take out my wallet to pay. When I opened my wallet, I discovered that my cash was missing. At first, I couldn’t believe that something like this could happen in such a place and thought that maybe I had left the money at home. Since I hadn’t been anywhere else before going to the restaurant, I decided to go back home to check. I paid by card and left to confirm whether I had taken the cash with me, even though both my wife and I were sure that I had.

Once at home, upon closer inspection of my wallet, I noticed that it was torn on one side. Checking my bag, I also realized that my wireless earphones, which had been in the top pocket, were missing.

The next day, I went to speak with the manager of Hard Rock Cafe and explained the situation, asking if we could review the security footage, as one of the cameras was positioned directly behind me where my bag was hanging. She kindly gave me her business card and assured me that she would check the video and get back to me.

I waited for three days but never received a response. I then messaged her at the number on the business card, but again, there was no reply. The next day, I went back to Hard Rock Cafe to ask if they had reviewed the footage and if they could assist me.

The manager told me that the security footage didn’t show anything unusual and that the security team, who reviewed the recordings, said no one had taken anything. When I asked if the video showed the employee handling my bag, she said she had seen that moment, but everything happened very quickly, and he immediately put the bag back on the chair.

I then asked if she had personally watched the video, and she admitted that she had not—she was simply relaying what the security team had told her. At that moment, I realized that she wasn’t being completely honest with me because I clearly remember what happened, and it was not as quick as she claimed.

The manager suggested that I contact the police, but anyone who has been to Tenerife and has faced a similar situation knows that the police are unlikely to help in cases where the loss is relatively small (around €100).

I was very disappointed with the way the staff handled this situation. It’s not about the lost money—it’s about the fact that something like this can happen in such a place and that the staff is unwilling to help.

I’m sharing my experience as a warning to others—be careful in this establishment and always keep an eye on your personal belongings, as this could happen to anyone. Most likely, I will never return to this place, even though I...
