Perla Negra — Restaurant in Arrecife

What is salmonella? I ordered chicken with mushroom sauce. Started eating and thought the chicken was strange when cutting. I took a closer look and could see the chicken was actually raw in the middle. It was hard to see at first as it was covered in sauce, but when I cut into the meat I could see it was very undercooked. I called the waiter over and he apologised. Rather than risk it, I asked to change for grilled chicken instead. 10mins later my plate arrived - it was chicken with mushroom sause again. I thought okay maybe they had decided to show me a good version of the dish, so I didn't say anything. I then realised they had actually reheated my previous dish. How they cleaned the sause off to reheat the chicken I don't want to know, but I could see that this was my previous dish as it had the knife marks of what I'd eaten before. I would advise this place has a food service check, and to avoid until you see a valid recent food service license. Paid the full bill minus this dish after some back and forths with the waiters. This restaurant changed owners and all good reviews come from the time the previous owners were in charge. I used to come to Perla Negra every year during my travel to Lanzarote. Such a disappointment during my last visit. The food was of very poor quality, so the price of the meals is very not justified. All seafood is frozen, so don’t expect anything fresh there. The food is bland at best and totally inedible at worst. The paella was a disaster, probably worst paella I had in my life. We did not eat anything we ordered and the bill was over €80. Please save yourself a disappointment and eat somewhere else. The food is good here. We tried 4 dish and 3 of them was exceptional. We tried the octopus as well and i would say, that need some improvement. The service is good though. I would really want to give a five star for this restaurant but a 5 rating for me is if everything i had was absolutely satisfiyng, which sadly wasn't. I recommend this place whatsoever, just if you know how octopus should taste don't order that here. We paid 41€ which is a good price. Keep it up guys. Just a little bit more to go and you...
