I recently dined at Asian Ways in the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona, and while the location is charming, the experience was somewhat underwhelming. The restaurant has a cozy, inviting atmosphere and the staff were friendly and attentive. However, the food itself left much to be desired.
Despite an appealing menu offering a variety of Asian dishes, the flavors didn’t quite hit the mark. The dishes we ordered lacked the vibrant and bold flavors one would expect from authentic Asian cuisine. The presentation was fine, but the taste was, unfortunately, mediocre and lacked depth. Some of the items felt a bit under-seasoned or overly greasy.
For the price, I was hoping for more in terms of flavor and quality. While it’s a decent spot if you're looking for a quick meal in the Gothic Quarter, it wouldn’t be my first choice if you’re seeking an authentic and memorable Asian...
Read moreWe ordered the curry, fried rice, chicken salad, gyozas, spring rolls, fried chicken, kimchi, and edamame. My husband said the curry was good. It looked like a very good portion with a lot of chicken. The gyozas and shrimp spring rolls were very very good would highly recommend those. The fried rice was one of our favorites ever! Kids LOVED it. The salad…i wouldn’t say you have to try it. Hard pass on the kimchi. I usually love kimchi and I’ve got a lot of kimchi experience. The dressing was like soy sauce and made for some very salty bites. The fried chicken was good. I wouldn’t be in a rush to go back because of the two huge cockroaches we encountered before making it out the door. Good service and some good...
Read moreThe worst Asian food I have ever eaten. Ever. I’ve been to china and Japan and Thailand and live in Toronto (Asian food capital outside of Asia). I know Asian food. One noodle dish tasted like formaldehyde. Ramen was horrible and sour. Other dishes lacked flavour. Edamame was good. Teriyaki sauce was not teriyaki. Didn’t try the gyoza. Maybe they are good. The cold rolls were acceptable but should have been served with hoisin sauce which they didn’t have. The karaage was decent and came with a salad with great dressing. I can’t understand how they have good reviews. They should change the name of the restaurant from Asian Ways to “no ways”. I should have known better than to eat here. Save your...
