Big Bang Bar — Restaurant in Barcelona

Loved it, loved it, loved it, resembling somewhat the 'Ain't Nothing But The Blues Bar' in London, I'd been thinking about going for the past few weeks but didn't quite have the gall. Anyhoo, had a few glasses of cava and said to myself GO!!! It's a generic running order, house band with coordinator up first then others accordingly (put your name on a list on the piano). Live musicians are gagging to play so there's always going to be a crowd, the only thing I would say is that there are 'favourites ' it always happens, some people just can't help hogging the stage. I think two three songs maximum and that goes for guitarists too, one sound becomes tedious!! We're all chomping at the bit to play, let's give everyone a chance!!! I managed to get two songs in early doors and met some lovely people, home from home for me. Hace ya unos 6 meses que no voy al local y todo por el chico que esta detras de la barra. Estuve viniendo durante muchos años, de hecho me gustaba mucho el ambiente y me sigue gustando, big bang bar era uno de mis lugares favoritos de toda barcelona, desgraciadamente el trato que hay detras de la barra por parte de ese chico deja mucho que desear y ya no tan solo hacia el cliente sino como persona que esta trabajando para un hombre que quiere que su negocio le vaya bien, pero parece ser que el chico tiene mas prioridad por cerrar el local 1h y media antes para irse con una chica que terminar su jornada laboral cuando hay aun gente como yo que queriamos consumir mientras pasaba una noche agradable. El chico despues de haberle dicho que queria tomar algo mas cuando aun faltaba 1h y media para cerrar no me quiso servir nada mas porque decia que no habia mucha gente y que no esperaba que un dia entre semana ya viniese mas gente, menospreciando la gente que estaba alli que si queria consumir, al menos yo con mi pareja, entonces le dije que el local no cerraba hasta dentro de 1h y media y ya empezaron los problemas, yo le dije que a su jefe no se si le gustaria que cerrase el local antes de tiempo y el me dijo que el jefe era el (yo lo conozco al jefe de vista y evidentemente no era este chico) y que podia cerrar el local cuando el quisiera, yo le dije ya lo sabe tu jefe que cierras antes pk si fuera mi negocio no querria tener un empleado que cierra mi local cuando le da la gana haciendome perder dinero , entoces se calento y despues de amenazarme con no volver a entrar mas en el local reiteradas veces despues de haber estado viniendo durante mas de 15 años ,por no querer estar escuchando y no querer cumplir con sus obligaciones como trabajador dando mala imagen al local y hacer perder dinero a su dueño salio de la barra se puso delante mio y me dijo que me largara o llamaria a la policia hechandome fuera, le dije mira sabes que me voy para no volver mas. Asi que desgraciadamente ya no voy a venir mas mientras este chico que creo que se llama Arnau siga alli. Esta reseña que no iba a poner pk de hecho es la primera reseña que pongo en toda mi vida con la edad de 36 años he decido ponerla ahora pk ya no por mi sino para el dueño que sea consciente de la clase de empleado que tiene a su servicio y si le interesa una persona asi tenerla...

This is a little jewel for musicians of all kinds and for people who enjoy live music. Marc Daniels is a great host for Open Mics and everybody gets a chance to share what each of us does. Moreover, the entrance fee is affordable, as they only request €6 and they are spendable on drinks of your choice. Only drawback, it's always full, so you need to get there early if you want to have room inside or get on the list to participate in their jams and open mics. As a consequence, it can get really hot inside, so I'd suggest bringing a Spanish fan (i.e. abanico) with you. Recommendation: Check Instagram @bigbangbarbarcelona for info on daily events...
