The only thing worse than the food was the manboybun hipster attitude - 1) baby squid in tinto was not fresh and very little is more disgusting than old squid except old squid with cream, the 2) ‚mama‘s‘ croquetas would have shamed any mother (chewy gristly chunks of sausage in a morass of salty goey cheese) and 3) the cauliflower was oversalted. When I (fairly) gently brought up the fact that the most expensive thing on the menu should be well, fresh especially if it’s seafood the server gave me attitude and said „Ok“ aggressively. I repeated that the seafood wasn’t fresh and he literally walked off in a rude huff. Seriously this is exactly why people hate gentrification: avoid at all costs.
Clarifying my review for the owner: "old" in this case means - not fresh tasting, aka too old to cook. It's bad enough that a hot dish was served cold, but a seafood dish ought to be made with fresh shellfish, not several days old. And either way, it was an unfortunate pairing with whatever sort of creamy "aioli" sauce it was. The Iberico tasted like sausage gristle, so yes, it was indistinguishable, just as the calamari was indistinguishable from day old canned tuna mixed with sour cream.... and everything, including the service was nasty. We kindly asked for a table and the waitress did not acknowledge us, we weren’t sure if he heard us but we waited 10 minutes until we asked again, and he rolled his eyes and asked us “why are we in a rush” I clarified that we weren’t, we just wanted to ensure he knew we were waiting. He then proceeded to telling me that I should not live my life in a rush and to take a physiology class. I apologized in case he got a different impression from us and stood waiting another 20 minutes. We waited 20 minutes and he kept taking care of the the table around us but completely ignored us.I quickly realized that we were not the issue but he was just rude, when he was serving the table next to us he dropped an entire soda bottle and the costumer’s phone got wet, he told her it was her fault for having the phone on the table,at this point we were in shock at his behavior.
